Will We See Continued Improved Play by the San Jose Sharks?
The Sharks have won 5 of their last 7. It’s a much better first quarter of the season than last year.

THX for doin the sharks😊
San Jose Lunds
philly won in the shootout .
Flyers won
Thank you for the video. But you don't have to give them more than they did. The shootout in Philly was a loss. But thanks for thinking it was a win. Love the work you do!
You’ve said several times that they’ve been more fun to watch this year, and I wholeheartedly agree. Glad to see them sticking around in games this season as well, making good improvements! Still plenty of room to grow, but it’s nice to look forward to the future again. As a fan who wears a Sharks hat almost everyday, far from San Jose, the conversations have been more fun too!
All
this progress without Coulture and Vlasic.
They likely bottomed out last season. They are exactly where they were two years ago.
Yes, they nearly tied their game against Vancouver; but they did so with over a minute to go and then broke down in the final minute. Bad things happen to bad hockey teams.
Turning those regulation losses into a point or two will be the key to this team's improvement. I think they will do so over last season, but for now, wait until 2025-26.
In addition to the prospects you already mentioned, Eric Pohlkamp leading the defensemen in the NCAA in points. Luca Cagnoni is a point per game in the AHL and Ethan Cardwell looking very promising.
The Sharks rarely do well against Buffalo, but their upcoming games look promising.
Future Cup Champions
Something that gets forgotten with the Sharks is that they only started their rebuild during the 22-23 season. Up until then they were competing in earnest to make the playoffs and avoid a rebuild before Grier finally pulled the trigger on tearing things down, which was clearly the right call.
Philly beat San Jose 4-3 last night
go sharks go!
NOW THIS IS THE CONTENT I'M HERE FOR 😍
More competitive… Chemistry between the players building. Actually seeing systems being used…
We're all realistic of where the sharks are… They're progressing. As a fan, I love that they're fighting till the very end most nights. Felt like they gave up in the 1st period a lot last season.
By the end of the season, I'd love if the sharks were known as that "pesky team" that could possibly play spoiler to playoff bubble teams.
Oh and like others mentioned, sharks lost to the flyers in the shootout. But still…. They came back from 3-0 to tie it.
That wouldn't have happened last season. Improvement.
The 23rd is the Jumbo Joe jersey retirement, could be a huge distraction for both teams, and a sold out crowd.
As a neutral outside enjoyer of high-energy janky rebuild hockey, I'm on board for the continued bizarre experiment of Top Line Dellandrea. Warsofsky trying to recreate 22-23's analytically darling Benn-Johnston-Dellandrea line is fascinating to me.
Don't forget Luca Cagnoni who's a PPG in the AHL, Kasper Haltunnen, Igor Chernyshov (been injured), Nate Misskey (looking like a late round steal PPG in WHL) and Erik Pohlkamp who leads all Denver defenseman in points over Zeev Buium!! The prospect pool is even deeper than listed! Improvement is all we are looking for this season, and adding another top 5 talent to this group.
Flyers won 4-3
Yessirrrrr
Knew that San Jose is possibly ahead of the other teams on rebuild before the start of the season though that's only ten games
In my expert opinion: maybe, maybe not. 🎣
I actually think dellandrea has been a better addition than Goodrow, not that Goodrow is horrible, just think he’s being over used by warsofsky when he’s really a 4th liner
