From August: “How Deommodore Lenoir went from fifth-round pick to 49ers’ most underrated player”

  1. The 49ers seem to be pretty consistent in finding later round gems in the draft. The scouts must be pretty good.

  2. It’s crazy how he went from 4th stringer to working his way up against and just buying his time from former CB’s like Ambry Thomas, Akello Witherspoon, Emmanuel Mosley and he’s shown the most consistency let alone progression tbh out of all of them

  3. 2 seasons ago a lot of 49ers fans (not me) had so much to say about him and now he’s getting a big new contract which he deserves. I’m happy for him.

  4. 5th round pick “hits” since 2017 under shanahan

    * 2017 – kittle
    * 2018 – reed
    * 2019 – greenlaw
    * 2020 – mckivitz
    * 2021 – lenoir, hufanga
    * 2022 – womack

    what is that 7 starting caliber players in the NFL drafted in 5th round by the 49ers in the previous 8 years

    kittle, reed, lenoir all got big second contract after their rookie deals either in free agency or extensions with the 49ers

    * kittle – 5 years 75 million
    * reed – 3 years 33 million with the jets
    * lenoir – 5 years 92 million

    hufanga and kittle were named all pros … hufanga a 1st team all pro and kittle 4x an all pro including 1st team all pro twice in 2019 & 2023 along with being a 5x pro bowler and probably going into NFL HOF too when his career is over

  5. A couple of years ago Lenoir was a PI problem and I would get so frustrated watching him. He is now one of my favorite players. I can’t believe how fast he improved and how good he is. Glad we paid the man.

  6. Sneaky smart move to get Lenoir signed before Sauce, McDuffey, and Stingly blow up the CB market in 2025.
