Is it safe to say this weekend’s game is the biggest home game since the Joe Haden game against the Pats in 2018?
November 13, 2024
Obviously we hosted a home playoff game in 2020 but all of those games had no fans so I don’t even want to count them. It’s crazy how long it’s been since a home game had this kind of hype. I’m curious if any of you agree.

Idk, but I’m not scared of those rat birds. King Henry will probably put up 200 yards, but i still think we win comfortably 35-19. Watt has been only giving 65% this whole season and we’re about to see him turn it up a notch this game, I think he gets 8 tackles. I see us losing to the bengals and eagles but winning out otherwise. We’re real deal contenders and once we win Sunday I hope that narrative starts driving home to people.
Would this not be called the Jesse James game?
I think it depends what you mean by “biggest.” Sticking to the regular season, if you mean the most important I’d argue the Christmas Eve game against Cincinnati last year was the “biggest” since it sparked the teams end of year turnaround and suprise playoff push.
In terms how good both teams are I’d argue yes, probably even bigger than the 2018 game since that Steelers team missed the playoffs entirely.
Yes, but many of us were still so pissed about the Jesse James fiasco the previous year that the victory felt very hollow.
It’s always a big game when Baltimore comes to town.
The importance of this game is more on par with the 2017 Steelers home game against the Patriots, it’s just the implications are less defined since there’s still so much season to be played. But whoever wins this is heavy favorite to win the division and likely send it for a 2-3 seed.
I was at that game.
One of my favorite plays that I’ve ever seen live
Yes. You are correct. And potentially, there are bigger games remaining in the regular season depending on how things shake out. But I am absolutely elite at being negative around here, and there is no reason not to be excited about what is happening right now. I don’t care about next year, I don’t care about anything else but finishing this. There is plenty of reason to think this team is a legitimate contender.
The favorite to win the AFC? I don’t think so. Not yet. But that doesn’t matter. This season is not over yet. This team can continue to improve and they might actually be the best team in the AFC for all I know. They just beat a very good Washington team. While I don’t think Russell Wilson is a top five quarterback anymore, he isn’t exactly just a game manager. He’s more than that. He also has experience, he was humbled by his time in Denver and is buying into the system. Veteran savvy matters if he has it.
I think Smith is figuring out his weapons and how to use them best – he hasn’t done that yet but I think he will. Given Wilson’s history, I think this team is going to continue to improve in the red zone. They can keep up with better offenses. Wilson understands the field in front of him, and he’s going to continue to get more and more comfortable. This team has probably not peaked yet.
This is wildly positive
Idk but this is the most pumped I’ve been for a game in a long time
Whoa. What a great memory.
Oh Fuck! I need to make that a poster! Thanks!
Always the best win of a season is a win against rat birds.
Big for both squads. It’s always big for both in a big boy game. But then we all know as usual, it’ll be left up to one of the kickers!
I’ll just call it the biggest game of this season so far.
I can’t friggin stop thinking about it 😃
It still shocks me that we’ve had so much recent success against the Ravens considering everything. Sadly I think they’re quite due against us.
I don’t think it’s fair to compare a game mid December to a game mid November, especially with an extra game in the season in 2024. The Ravens game this weekend is big but there is a lot of football left in the season and this game doesn’t have as much immediate playoff implication as that NE game in 2018.
The last 2 times, that we’ve beaten the ravens 3 times, we’ve won the suoerbowl. Fact check me.
7-2 Steelers hosting the 7-3 Ravens
Winner takes the lead in the North.
If the Steelers win they’ll have a full game and a half lead over Baltimore, with 2 games each against Cleveland and Cincinnati to play.
A loss ties us, and we then have to win in Baltimore the week before The KC game.
It’s definitely the biggest home game since Ben retired.
Probably bigger than his last game against Cleveland (as far as overall season goes).
You meant 2017 vs *NE. That was for home field advantage through the AFC playoffs. 2018 was a massively disappointing year missing the playoffs.
Not gonna lie I had little faith we’d win this game. After the season before and all the heart breakers against that mf Brady in the past, I thought it be the same. But man I was happy to be proven wrong.
