Thanks OP, it’s so nice that you had the archive link.
Exactly what I wanted to read this evening.
Thanks for posting this. Amazing read. Didn’t know a lot about the guy, but I get it now. I’m sure those quotes from the players were edited for clarity, but they still can’t put in anything they didn’t say… lotta smart guys in that locker room for sure.
I literally never heard of this guy until he got hired to join the coaching staff. The Spurs know how to pick ’em and he’s no exception.
I’ve liked what I’ve seen on the court so far, and I like what I’m hearing about this guy off the court, including this article. He’s a great fit for how things have operated in San Antonio.
I hope Coach Pop can get healthy and we can see him in the sidelines once again, but Coach Johnson might be the right guy to succeed him moving forward. He’s been under the radar compared to some other assistants over the years, but he’s impressed Coach Pop enough to have moved up the ladder this quickly at such a young age.
Thanks, been looking forward to something like this, because it is kind of interesting the youngest, least experienced guy was tapped as head coach when Brett Brown was HC for 7 years in the NBA.
