Starting to lose hope, unfortunately
2 goals were never going to win it. They had multiple breakaways and some dangerous chances that should have been converted in the second.
We’re just not that good, and the first few games of the season fooled everyone into thinking we might compete for a playoff spot… but the underlying metrics have been bad from the start of the season. The style of game we play, along with the lack of capable centers, and pass first mentality leads to this result. Sure the loss of our best player for 6 to 8 weeks has hurt, but one man can’t carry a team. The coaching is suspect, the talent is suspect, and the effort is definitely suspect.
Well, up 2-0 on Boston and then they score 3 unanswered goals in the 3rd, including a game winner by pasta, to come from behind and win. The fear of that scenario was visible on my face at the beginning of the 3rd period on June 12th, 2019. Luckily, that scenario waited until November 12th, 2024. Enjoy the win, bruins fans.
