LeBrun: Sabres looking to make “big” trade

From the article:

League sources say the Buffalo Sabres are among the busier teams phoning around sizing up the trade market. I asked Sabres GM Kevyn Adams about that Tuesday, and he said, “I believe in this group, but at the same time I am looking into every possible way to improve our roster.”

Said one rival team executive about the Sabres: “They’re looking to do something big if they can.”

  1. As someone who watches every Sabres game, but doesn’t follow the rest of the NHL enough to know…is there a “big” name player out there that the Sabres could realistically trade for?

Clearly they’d be hoping to get a guy who isn’t on an expiring contract, and would be an immediate contributor.

  2. Pittsburgh said everyone is for sale except Crosby.

Evgeni Malkin to replace an injured Tage. You heard it here first folks.

  3. We are probably the only team that could get Crosby with our assets, maybe the Pegula connection could sway Sid

  4. I’m shocked… For once it isn’t listing half the team as trade bait…

Though it also pretty much insinuates that some part of the team is trade bait.

So who’s the next guy to leave and suddenly become a HOF player?

  5. It’s gonna be so funny when we trade for Eric Karlsson and we get another offensive defenseman for no reason.
