Blue-collar Titans fans getting priced out of seats at new Nissan Stadium | Tennessee

  1. Yep, it’s a bad look. I saw what the RCA dome to Lucas Oil transition looked like, since my dad was a STH through that time… I can tell you it was absolutely nothing like this.

My dad got similar seats, if not an upgrade, for a very similar price. No PSL cost whatsoever at either stadium.

So, even if this behavior by the Titans FO is the new “standard” way of doing things.. it certainly isn’t the way some other teams have treated their longtime fans.

And the kicker is; the Colts very much had a product worth paying for, at the time.

  2. It’s shameful of the titans to go about this new stadium this way, I’d be surprised if they can fill the new one up

  3. Seems like they are doing me a favor. Now I don’t have to worry about paying to see this dogshit team get beat by a back up qb (idk it always happens when I go).

  4. They don’t care about the fans, they just see money to be made.

It’s the reason I’ll gladly rock my beat up titans gear that I bought almost 10 years ago instead of supporting the shit show financially moving forward.

  5. Blue collar fans are getting priced out of the current stadium too. Ticket prices are getting out of control league wide

  6. There’s some nuance missing from this conversation. In the current stadium, the 200s-level is the premium seating, but in the new stadium premium seating is going to be in the 100s. So those are now the most expensive seats, with premium amenities, etc.

Had a friend have his PSL meeting this week and he was told that PSLs in the 300-level will be as low as $750. So current lower-level PSL holders may not be sitting in the lower level in the new stadium, but they absolutely will be able to afford PSLs somewhere in the stadium.

  7. The owners need this money as part of “their” contribution to the new stadium. Fans asked for a new stadium and they got it.

  8. Couple of things.

Of course there wasn’t a discussion about price. This isn’t a used car lot. You’re not going to be able to negotiate them down on the price, and it’s silly to think they could.

I don’t know why they’re saying they’re not getting anything toward the new seats. They are. They’re giving them a credit towards new seats based on their current seats. I think we get like $300 per seat.

Are they actually charging interest on the PSLs if you do a payment plan?

But, regardless of how much people complain about being priced out, they’re selling the seats. They don’t care if people are getting priced out as long as they’re selling the PSLs.

  9. It sucks for founding members. They really should have given them credit for the current value of their psl. Not what they paid in 1997. It’s still a big gap but getting a 6k credit is a lot better than a $600 one.

  10. If you think away fans are taking over the stadium currently. Imagine what happens when you give the 26 year PSL holders that have been holding on due to tradition the perfect off-ramp opportunity. Crazy Amy won’t care as long as those checks keep showing up at her Houston horse farm.

  11. No one in the NFL cares. Just look at the Super Bowl. They want the sport to be for elites only now. Where the top row of the top deck starts at $12,000 a ticket.

  12. The NFL, and slowly but surely ALL sports, are looking for more and more ways to make money and that means that they no longer care if local fans are invested or not. As long as tickets are selling to someone they are happy. A lot of teams are moving to more touristy areas for this reason but in the Titans case they are already in a city that has become a major tourist trap over the last 10-15 years. Less of us will be there but there will be someone sitting in those seats.

  13. I had a novel typed but I’m going to keep it short:

The WWE has been doing this the past year and basically **bragging** about their record sales…and us fans aren’t boycotting. I think the “blue-collar” fan now just gotta watch on TV as these owners & companies know that there’s so many white-collar fans that gleefully will step over the blue-collar fan.

  14. Blue collar workers are getting priced out of the NFL in general.i get that Sunday Ticket is a premium service but the price is outrageous.

  15. Just want to compare to how things are in other countries regarding sports fandom, season tickets for Liverpool, one of the most successful clubs in England are about $900, and they play 38 league games a season + cups. Season tickets for the reigning CL winners Real Madrid are $1400.

It doesn’t have to be like this, and it’s not just how things are. It’s greedy owners taking advantage of their fans and treating them like wallets instead of actual fans

  16. The new stadium isn’t for locals… it’s for tourists to come watch their team blow out the titans. We will never have a good team and the owners will never want one because tourists won’t come to the games to see their team play of the titans. This is a city directed measure. Titans are a show pony to draw in outside money.

  17. Well, is the way NFL has been going for a while. Raiders and Chargers are the recent examples

  18. 1. This is league wide. 2. Going to games isn’t what it used to be. 3. Nashville isn’t what it used to be. It’s a big city with a shiny new toy.

  19. I’m a PSL holder in current Nissan, and I plan on saving money with the move to New Nissan. Yes, it can be done. Quit crying about prices of something that no one is forcing you to buy.

  20. I must be in different tax bracket than everyone else cause my blue collar ass has been priced out for a while!

  21. I’m not blue collar and there’s no way I’m paying the prices for the quality we put out. It’s not worth my time or effort especially with how good streaming has been. Also, 1 dollar beers at home with friends and family can’t be beat.
