Hi all, I greatly enjoyed the exercise of coming up with a comprehensive plan last year for the Giants last year, so took a crack at it again this offseason.
Summary:
- Giants trade OF Mike Yastrzemski, 1B LaMonte Wade Jr., LHP Carson Whisenhunt, SS Aeverson Arteaga to the Astros for LHP Framber Valdez and RHP Ryan Pressly
- Giants trade RHP Landen Roupp to the Guardians for 1B Josh Naylor
- Giants trade RHP Camilo Doval to the Rangers for OF Adolis García and LHP Mitch Bratt
- Giants trade LHP Reggie Crawford (or LHP Joe Whitman, or INF Walker Martin) to the Twins for INF/OF Willi Castro

4. *Profit!*
If we trade Lamonte I will be devastated
That’s cool and all but Roupp was way too good at the end of the season to trade, Crawford could be a dominant bull pen arm. Wade is an excellent stop gap till Eldridge comes in then he can be traded at deadline or DH. And Yaz is the 3rd best OF on the roster by a long shot only chance he gets traded if they land Soto which won’t happen.
I don’t think we get Naylor for Roupp.
None of those trades are realistic or would be accepted by the other team except maybe the Rangers one, which I personally would pass unless Mitch Bratt is like Cole Ragans. Adolis Garcia had an outlier year in 2023.
I’m down to get rid of Yaz and Wade. Mid players. need a shakeup like the 1996-1997 offseason.
