  1. Will add this on because Bell didn’t touch on it but Kai Correa also got a promotion to director of defense, baserunning, and strategy

  2. The last couple of years in the Guardians org, you can see that they’ve definitely been trying to change up how they approach offense. They’ve been prioritizing teaching players to pull the ball in the air, and have added some of those types to the organization in recent years as well (Manzardo, Brito, Bazzana, etc).

To me it makes sense that they’d want to promote the guy who’s been in charge of overseeing it to the majors

  3. Awesome that Carl is back and Albernaz is getting some flowers. Don’t know a ton about Fink but I think it was clear Valaika wasn’t working

  4. Reading the MVP Machine (great book pick it up if you’re in the mood for a crunchy baseball read) and based on how that book discusses the approach of farm systems’ philosophies being coached to all minor leaguers, I like promoting the Minor League Hitting Coordinator to the major league hitting coach.

Hopefully, Fink will have a more forward looking hitting strategy. We also have a super young team, and the guys buy into his vision. I wonder how old heads will react.
