  1. Firing Saleh not being a solution doesn’t mean he wasn’t a problem. I still think it was for the best because now at least we know Ulbrich is trash too. For all we know if we keep Saleh all year, Ulbrich intervews well and we’re stuck with him HC of the NYJ for 3-5 years

i am very comfortable saying i will never find myself thinking of saleh as the one that got away

  2. Casuals act like our defense was still elite earlier this year when he was here. The huge drop off of production happened in the offseason. Not gonna say I agree with woody firing him him but if he was still here we’d be in the exact same spot

  3. My thoughts are we took a very good DC in Ulbrich and made him a HC who can no longer focus on the defense.

  4. Anyone with a brain knew Saleh wasn’t the main problem. We’re probably be better off with him right now and just making an OC change seeing how this team has responded to ulbrich. Woodys meddling killed any hope of the playoffs. Either way, he wasn’t coming back next year and atleast we get to expedite certain aspects of a “rebuild” and actually bring a coach to prepare this team.

Side note, don’t post dov kleiman, he’s a no source hack who steals all of his tweets and brings literally nothing of value.

  5. God the revisionist narratives on Saleh are beyond insufferable.

He was a truly awful HC. Not misunderstood. Not decent. Bad! The culture is borderline non existent, there was absolutely no accountability or adjustments under him.

The mistake wasn’t firing him in week 5. It was NOT firing him in January.

He’s, probably, a top 3-5 DC in the league. Let him go he a DC again. Because he has too many irredeemable flaws as a HC.

  6. Someone needs to explain to me why Saleh is constantly treated like he was our DC and not our HC with these narratives

  7. I will say Ulbrich looks like a more competent Head Coach. He’s always actually trying things and working to get better where it seems like most of Saleh’s tenure was just being a cheerleader.

The only mistake was not firing Saleh during this past offseason. We should have fired quite a few people. Saleh not firing Keith Carter and Hackett should have been a fireable offense. And if he didn’t have the balls or power than it doesn’t matter anyways.

  8. Saleh absolutely was the problem. Just because he’s a good DC doesn’t make him a good HC. Yeah Woody probably fired him at the wrong time (shocker) but this media narrative that Saleh is a good coach is so overblown.

  9. 20-36. Those are my thoughts. Maybe not the only problem, but surely not the solution either

  10. He wasn’t the problem on defense. And the team looks even more disorganized since he’s left.

    However:
    He should have fired Hackett
He should have fired Keith Carter
He should not have started Wilson

I don’t think he was the problem, but I’m not sure he was part of the solution.

  11. They fired Saleh after two one possession game losses. One where if the kicker makes the field goal, they win the game. The other the Jets were driving down the field with a chance to win, and then Rodgers throws the interception. It was an overreaction. However, if they don’t fire Saleh, is there record any better than it is now, I don’t know. Their kicker was a disaster, and cost the team multiple games.

  12. Yes, Saleh was the problem.

But that doesn’t mean you turn everything around mid-season when he goes.

That’s why most teams don’t make coaching moves mid-season.
