one day I hope you get to 100K subs. you put in the best work when it comes to raptors content. Who do you compare Gradey's game to? Peja Stojakovic? I really cant tell
Scottie, IQ-RJ, Poeltl Gradey. Ochai – and it probably keeps his intensity up instead of random at times (atleast) lately. Don't Think u can bench RJ or IQ but u can pull them quick and lower the minutes hmm
Bruno was great (compared to all other games lol) just not in the paint when he gets the ball or sees the ball coming in the air lol
realistically, rj goes to bench.. but i doubt his ego will allow it.. so gradey goes to the bench.. his time will come.. maybe as soon as after the trade deadline.. rj = gradey when it comes to defense and gradey is a superior cutter, finisher and shooter..
Just remember who they game plan for. Grady can go for numbers but doesn’t keep it close enough and he is very up and down. Rj has a lot of attention right now and when he has off games we notice it more than quiet nights from other players. The fact is rj is still getting boards and isn’t targeted on defence.
Funny thing against lakers Grady tried to dunk on Bron for the highlight instead of the layup. He missed and after that was basically targeted the rest of the quarter. He probably had to defend most of the shots and got crushed by screens. Lol he will learn
Gradey could be a Lou Williams type of player.
This team has been so injured that it’s becoming unwatchable. (These videos help me keep up though!) I feel that it’s unfair to evaluate anyone at this time and may personally check out until Scottie is back or they win a game. Hopefully the latter happens first and soon.
I'm sorry but something doesn't sit right about the Raptors paying Quickley north of 32 mill a season & having him come off the bench. Quickley is the only point guard on the team who can handle the ball without 10 turnovers a game & who can really shoot it from 3. Ideally, Quickley should be used as a Steph Curry type PG/SG role.
Also, Scotties ideal archetype would be like a Kawhi & Giannis type hybrid. However, in order to fulfill this role he has to improve his shooting, ball handling & general aggressiveness in taking the ball & driving to the hole like Giannis does. We have seen Scottie have this ability when he wants to, he just doesn't turn it on at times whereas Giannis is constantly aggressive & is almost always looking to take it to the rack.
I really think Masai should get either Naz Reid or Myles Turner next season & a back-up PG like Schroeder if he wants the Raptors to begin competing by next season. These two players plus our draft pick, who should either be Cooper Flagg or Asa Newell & we could have a starting 5 of :
PG: Quickley SG: Gradey or Ochai SF: Barnes PF: Asa Newell or Cooper Flagg C: Naz Reid or Myles Turner
This team would begin competing immediately by next season. The strategy is simple. First, Tank just for this one season in order to get a top 5 draft pick. Secondly, seek to trade the following players by the deadline for max assets/ draft capital in the upcoming draft (Olynyk, Jak, Bruce Brown, RJ). Third, Sign Dennis Schroeder or use draft capital to select a good back-up guard to Quickley like Dylan Harper or Nolan Traore who can shoot & who isn't turnover prone. Fourth, finally get a skilled Center in either Naz Reid or Myles Turner, who are both available in the offseason. Finally, select Asa Newell or Cooper Flagg as our draft pick to play the PF spot. These are all doable for the Raptors front office & if they were to take these steps, would really indicate that the Raptors are serious about winning & competing for another championship.
Feel like Ochai may be able to make RJ expendable

I'm not actually suggesting we trade anyone but depending on our lottery luck this whole "who goes to the bench" conversation could easily be solved

In my nba 2k franchise. I had rj Barrett come off the bench and we won a ship. I agree I would start Gradey over him

Just Let Cooper Flag earn his spot if we draft him, we can’t just let him come and take the starting job until he can show he is better than our starters
