Love the fit but I wouldn’t be surprised if the asking price was a bit high to justify
Average bat, bad defense. No thanks
I hope not
I think so
This proposed Bubic+Garcia for Bohm
Also Bohm for Singer
Since this came up yesterday in the [MLB Trade Rumors Chat](https://live.jotcast.com/chat/chat-with-mlbtrs-steve-adams-11-12-24-19585.html), I will quote them
> What can I reasonably expect in a trade of Alec Bohm? Is Bregman an option if I deal Bohm? Steve Adams: Less than most Phillies fans think. I imagine he could be swapped for a reliever of some note, or something like that, but front offices aren’t going to love the glove, the platoon splits, the middling OBPs. Bohm was amazing in April and then for the rest of the season went right back to the same slightly above-average hitter he always is. And you’re talking two years of not-super-cheap control at this point, probably like $20MM or so in total in 2025-26. It’s a fine value, but I don’t think clubs are going to view him as a player with heaps of surplus value.

> Taylor Ward for Brady Singer? Steve Adams: Easy no for me, if I’m the Royals
Not exactly the final answer, but these guys are usually a bit more tuned in than your average fan so thought I would post them here. Based on these responses, both of these would be significant overpays to Bohm’s value
Slow news day for Royals Review lol
That article is a little too rosy from where I’m sitting
Low priority trade, just happens to be the first guy whose name is out there like that… there’s gotta be better trades in discussion, it’s just that we don’t know they’re up for trades like with this Joker
It’s giving Clint Frazier or Trey Mancini
His price tag would be too high for a guy that’s a career 3.8 rWAR. His rWAR this year was 3.
Garcia 2024: 1.2 rWAR 72 OPS+ 157 games
Bohm 2024: 3 rWAR 117 OPS+ 143 games
Bohm 2023: .4 rWAR 107 OPS+ 145 games
The main thing I want to focus on is this was a career year for Bohm. He’s definitely a better hitter but his value plummets if he’s not hitting well above average.
Unpopular opinion, but I kinda like the guys we have. I’ve been wrong before, but I just have a hunch Garcia and Melendez are about to have career years, BWJ will somehow be more productive, Pasquantino will hit 40 HRs, etc. Instead of trading pitching, I would actually like to acquire more. Not only for our own depth, but they can be quite valuable to trade later if things don’t work out – or if things do work out, and we need a package to get a bat.
Unless it’s a can’t-miss position player, that is an All-Star level guy, I would prefer to see what the team, as constructed, looks like in April & May. KC has a lot of guys versatile enough to keep hot bats in the lineup, just by moving guys around. They also have great chemistry and have a tested play style. Not unlike the 2014-15 teams.
