Sam Amick thinks the Sacramento Kings’ depth “is a problem”
Through the first 12 games of the 2024-25 season, the Sacramento Kings are shooting just 31.8 percent from three-point range (29th in the NBA).
The Athletic’s Sam Amick joined The Carmichael Dave Show with Jason Ross to share his thoughts on why the Kings are off to a slow start from three, contemplate if DeMar DeRozan’s mid-range game has affected the offensive flow, address concerns about the depth, and much more.
Plus, how aware was Sacramento of rookie guard Devin Carter’s shoulder injury on draft night?

If Devin is who the Kings think he is, you don’t pass up that talent for win now help. Especially when he is only going to miss half the season. Kid has 3 years of college experience and a whole half season to be coached up and work on his games. Think of him like a trade deadline acquisition. Can’t wait to see him play.
As much as I love seeing Sam Amick, a renowned NBA reporter who always give valuable insight, who I eagerly wait for every week to hear from, I'm not sure if we really need this every week so Dave have to come up with his knee-jerk nightmare scenario of the week just to create some talking point. No matter if it was literally the beginning of the season, when everything needs to gel and work out, he seems to always manage to find the "Glass half empty" take to discuss.
Just like the 24-hour news cycle, maybe we don't really need it in our lives just so we don't pick out every negative aspect in our lives to react.
