Even when Carlos Correa is at his best, it’s not like he’s an MVP candidate. There are teams like the Yankees and Dodgers who have like 4-5 as good as Carlos Correa on their roster. My point is, Correa isn’t this precious resource we need to protect. The only way we can make it to the WS is to either have a fluke DBacks run (which won’t ever happen in Minnesota) or to go full Rays. Might as well listen in on calls for Carlos
Correa for volpe, Spencer Jones and stroman as a salary dump for the Yankees.
Who cares what Correa wants, he's under contract, period.
meh
Carlos Correa is a 4 plus war shortstop, he's worth top 25 prospect in the MLB pipeline, top 50 prospect in an organizational pipeline and a player to be named later.
Who cares? Trade him. Hes an expensive player for a team going nowhere
It's always depends on the return. However, we still have the Pohlads as owners and this feels more like a spite move by gutting the roster before they sell in the name of flexibility.
Short answer: No.
Long answer: Noooooooooooooooo.
You guys are hilarious. The twins were the only team who wanted to pay correa that kind of money 2 years ago. He was UFA, and 29 of 30 teams passed. Since then he has only tanked his value by playing half the season due to a myriad of injuries, while also sabotaging the locker room by throwing the young players under the bus, while also loafing on plays.
You would be lucky, very lucky to get anyone to take him off your hands for anything other than an equally bad slate of negative value contracts in return. MLB doesn't allow trading draft picks (for the most part) so salary dumping your mistakes is extremely difficult. This isn't the NBA.
When you make $30 million per year, and only play half the season, you are being paid at a $60 million salary on a per game basis. That is Ohtani money, and correa isn't worth anything close to that. Plus there is the ugly fact that he has several years left on this contract, and might even play less than half the season moving forward.
It was one of the worst contracts ever given out in MLB, just like the Donaldson one before it. The idea that you are going to get "2 of the top 10 prospects" from some contender in a trade package is a pipe dream.

Hey judd can you do a random wild player with jessi and a.j
The only way I would trade Correa is if the Twins get a pitcher in return with a solid history of arm problems.
Correa is untradable nobody going pay 37 million
With respect, it would have been more shocking to me if Judd said he wasn't interested in trading Correa.
Anyone thinking this team is in a position to compete for the central is a delusional level of optimism
Correa for Volpe, Gil and a top 10 Yankee prospect, hopefully a catcher.
They should be interested in rebuilding around him I would trade Buxton & or Royce before him
The question on Correa is this – did they sign that contract assuming the Bally's $55mil/yr would be there for the duration of it? Because if they did, and that's now gone, it might be too much for them to afford.
One issue I wish you guys will address – with the news that Diamond Sports has emerged from bankruptcy (and they also made the deal with Amazon), is there a chance the Twins can now sign a new deal with them to help increase payroll? My understanding is the MLB streaming deal is non-exclusive…
Carlos Correa the player is really good.
Carlos Correa's second contract after failing two physicals is atrocious.
Doesn’t matter. If the Pohlads still own them, they will always suck no matter who they trade
Twins won't win with Pablo as their "ace".
i like him as a player but what is his market anyway,. he makes a ton of money and has missed a lot of games since signing his contract. derek falvey hasn't had enough success to warrant being promoted to a team president. this organization is clueless. hopefully the team is sold soon.
