The way they did bye weeks this year was dumb. You start seeing teams with bye weeks around week 5, which is probably earlier than you want. Then they didn’t have any byes week 8 around the halfway point of the season.
Also they used to always schedule a bye week for the teams coming back from Europe, now sometimes teams get one, but not all of them do? It’s just werid an inconsistent

There should just be a bye week for the whole league tbh but how would the NFL be able to survive not making any money for a week

This season, the 49ers play with -21 days of rest versus their opponents – 6th most since 1990
This season, the Ravens play with +16 rest days – the most since 1990.
Not only to bye weeks need to be revised. But these swings are fucking wild
If the Ravens and 49ers played in the Super Bowl, assuming they have the same seed, the Ravens would have a 37 day rest advantage over a 4ish month season.
Tell me how that makes sense.
Even better- each team gets 2 bye weeks. They’ll get more rest and we’ll get another week of football season
The only real fair way would be everyone have a bye on the same week but the NFL would never sacrifice TV revenue for that could do like half week 8 and half week 9 though
Do this mathematically and you will see this is a lot harder to do than you think. The easiest and probably best solution for “fairness” is all teams get the same week off mid season.

All of the 17th games should be international games.
Everyone should have their bye during weeks 8 or 9. Not only is it more fair, but then every game played those weeks has more eye balls on them. Or Everyone gets the same 2 byes and nobody plays between weeks 5 & 6 and weeks 10 & 11
