  1. He is too modest sometimes, prime shaq is probably the greatest center of all time, his footwork was literally on hakim level

  2. Jokic is really a good center. he’s one of a kind, good passing skills, excellent defense and offense. probably he’ll be on the top 5 in no time.

  3. He’s known for being egotistical, but Shaq is generally humble when he’s not weirdly being insecure.

If someone asks him to name the top 5 centers of all time he will graciously give his flowers to other guys.

But if you told him that he’s not a top 5 center all time he would instantly get defensive

  4. This guy reads the comments on the internet too much. He is saying this to try and appease his haters. He has time and time again proclaimed himself as the best big man

  5. Shaq is the most dominant center of all time. Not the best all around center like Jokic who basically can play every position, style, playmaking but once you enter the paint, that’s Shaq dominion.

Shaq is gonna score on you in the paint. You better double team him, or triple team him coz ain’t no way one on one in the paint. People forget shaq can pocket pass too to any cutter if anyone doubles him

  6. He tends to give guys their flowers, but is pretty particular about being the authority on the subject: Jokic is on the list because he says so, but the furniture would be movin’ if Skip Bayless said it. That’s just Shaq.

  7. I love Jokic but at this moment in his career he’s not above Shaq

He says 3 rings would make Jokic a top 5 center but I’d argue 3 rings and 3 MVPs (could realistically be 4 after this year) makes him a top ~12 player of all time anyways so at that point top 5 center isn’t even that relevant

  8. I think he’s being humble and saying I wouldn’t have myself on my own list.

But either way he sees the greatness in Jokic.

  9. The best centers of all time were elite two way stars. Kareem, Hakeem, Shaq, Robinson etc all made at least one all-nba defensive team. In the case of Hakeem and Robinson they won DPOY. Jokic isn’t a two way star.

  10. These “greatest ever” discussions are so redundant. Is that all these talking heads can discuss?

  11. Kareem
    Shaq
    Wilt
    Russell
    Hakeem
    Jocik

It’s hard to remove any of the top 5 for Jocik. Seriously who is being removed?

Hakeem is the only real discussion, and he won 2 rings, is arguably the greatest defensive player ever, has the greatest post game ever, his accomplishments are huge.

There have been too many players so the discussion should be top 10, not 5 at this point.

  12. People ITT saying Hakeem is not better than Shaq don’t know ball, plain and simple. If you put Jokic on that list(I do) it’s Bill, KAJ, Wilt, Hakeem, Jokic. Argue about the order all you want, Shaq isn’t better than those 5 imo. And I’m a die hard Laker fan.

  13. Wow an actually good Shaq take. Jokić is definitely going to go down as one of the 20 greatest to ever play this game if he isn’t already.

  14. Shaq has become super introspective of late, mostly in between stonewalling everyone with rangs

  15. I think all sensible people unanimously give shaq the “most dominant” center title. It’s just that being the most dominant stretches further with some people, and less with others.

  16. The guy’s an entertainer; nothing he says is deeply thought out or analysed. He’s just riffing off the top of his head. So, don’t take anything he says about basketball seriously.

  17. In his head Shaq’s top 5 is:

    1999 me
    2000 me
    2001 me
    1994 me
    2002 me

But he will say it’s Wilt and Bill just to keep the peace.

  18. At this rate

Kareem, Shaq, Wilt, Bill, Hakeem, Joker, and maybe even Wemby in the future will compose almost half of Top 15 all time players.

  19. Jokic is super unique in that he racks up assist numbers like few players could ever do, let alone centers. And hes doing it efficiently and consistently, and even energy efficiently. He is not as athletic as Wikt, but he does not need to be.

What Jokic is doing now he can do for 15 more years. I’m glad we get to live in the age of Bron Steph Kd Jokic Giannis Irving Doncic

I mean I left some out but Jeez

  20. Mikan 1000% deserves to be on a top 5 centers of all time list. The singularly most disrespected nba player in the current discourse.

7 championships, 5 in the nba. Would have had 3 mvps and 5 finals mvps. The first goat, the first dynasty.

Russell, Mikan, Kareem, Shaq, all top four as the only centers ever to lead a dynasty. Wilt takes the fifth spot for now, but I could see Jokic retiring higher

  21. There’s literally no point in asking Shaq these questions his answers are completely meaningless I wish we’d stop posting anything from him
