OLD MAN FANGIO WITH ANOTHER MASTERCLASS

Despite our offense having a couple of quick 3&outs, the defense had a chokehold on a red hot Washington offense. This man is cooking

  1. Unbelievable. Hats off to him and the individual defensive players. They won this game 1000%

  2. one of the best offenses in the league too, everybody’s been waiting for “wait until we play an elite offense” game, but here it is lol

Edit: Bengals of course were an elite offense, I’m referring to the national media narrative (where Burrow’s a great QB until were talking eagles wins / defense context)

  3. One of the best defenses in the league. Not only do our young players all contribute immediately, he’s getting a ton out of our vets too

Shout-outs to Nolan Smith, everyone so quick to write him off as a bust but he’s quietly been racking up pressure and sacks

  4. Shoutout to Nolan Smith. Been getting better every game. Think next season will be a breakout season for him.

  5. They got a garbage TD and really only had two good runs on their first TD drive. Hell they were lucky to get the FG on a weak PI call. D-line has turned things up. Turnovers are happening. Feeling familiar.

  6. Seriously, this what happens with a real DC and studs on defense. Guys are on point and they aren’t giving up THE big play like they did last season.

  7. It’s such a relief seeing them get stops on 3rd downs. Can’t believe we were relying on Matt Patricia less than a year ago…

  8. Fangio’s defense is still annoying sometimes and makes me mad. But he seems totally dialed into the team and the defense and you can see the defense make adjustments and actually scheme and gameplan. Always felt like Gannon or Desai or Patricia were just like “Well, we’re gonna do what we always do” and would get picked apart and just stand there.

I was frustrated that we’re still running this defense, but turns out I guess when you have the real guy running his actual defense and not a third-hand pale facsimile, it’s a lot better lol

  9. Fun fact: Sean Desai happens to be a “senior defensive assistant” for our next opponent, the Rams.

He’s gonna be sooooo confused when he sees our corners play up at the line on Sunday.

  10. Got so annoying when people didn’t like the hire because “we ran Fangio’s scheme last year and it was bad” well maybe just MAYBE it’s because an inexperienced DC ran it and not literally Vic Fangio.

  11. Vic looks like a guy who knows every Sinatra song word for word and I’m here for it. My guy is 3 steps ahead on the offense.

  12. Our d is so much better. The offense seems almost there. If they improve a bit leading into the playoffs they will be a team no one wants to play. Now our kicking tonight wtf. We left how many points on the table.

  13. Give him a round of applause and our young DB core. IMO this defense wouldn’t be as good without Mitchell, Rodgers, and Dejean.

  14. I was holding out hope after the Bengals game to know whether or not this defense was truly legit lockdown or not against any offense that wouldn’t normally struggle.

    Its fucking legit

  15. Never forget when people were trashing him the first few weeks. Yes it was not good at times, but ffs it’s Vic Fangio

  16. Seeing our two rookies be cornerstones of the defense this quickly is enough to make a grown man cry

  17. Some of us of a certain age don’t think of 65 as being old. We prefer experienced. Although with his glasses on in the booth, he looks 75.

  18. Washington has a great offense, you’ll give up a play here and there. What a unit we have
