  1. Jay Cutler for sure might have been our most consistent defender every time we played the Bears. He always seemed to get up for those matches!

  2. I’m not sure where but Donald driver feels like he could’ve been in one of those great Columns

  3. The bad-bad list is endless.

    Justin Harrell,
    Ahmad Carroll,
    Jamal Reynolds

Cobb would be a good fit for the Great-Ok square. Same for Antonio Freeman.

  4. Started great/ended bad should have been Ron Wolf. He started his tenure by getting Holmgren and Favre and his drafts were amazing. He ended with one of the worst drafts imaginable (yes, he was in charge not Sherman) and left the team in a bad position with making Sherman the GM. Wolf is beloved, but he really lost it at the end.

  5. Nick Collins for started great, ended bad. The ended bad part was an unfortunate gut punch to packers fans

  6. Only because he’s one of my favorite Packers:

Donald Driver for Started Okay, Ended Great

Maybe even Started Bad, Ended Great

  7. Feels like our regency bias is ignoring the Lombardi Packers and all of the Hall of Famers.

Maybe that whole team needs to be in as a while of bad to great (when Lombardi left).

Jim Taylor without Jim Brown would’ve been talked about to this day. Or that Line with Gregg, Thurston, and Kramer.

  8. Vince Lombardi and Curly Lambeau for the started great and ended great along with Bart Starr

    Edit: Forgot about Bart Starr

  9. I think Favre has to be a Great-Great snub. He pulled this franchise out of mediocrity, won 3 back to back MVPs starting in his 4th season with the team, two back to back SB appearances in that span, and continued an iron man streak throughout his career wear his last game with us was in the NFC championship.

Started great. Ended great. Didn’t leave in great terms but that’s besides the point.

  10. Randall Woodfield was a true snub of the bad – bad. Man got drafted and then cut for indecent exposures, then turned out to be a serial killer

  11. I would argue Donald Driver is a great candidate for started ok, ended great as he was solid and ended his career as the all time receiving yards leader for the Packers, and Dancing with the Stars champion

  12. I’ve enjoyed seeing this graphic. But I can’t help but thinking about others who would be in the same spots and the players chosen. There should be multiple boxes within each, IMO. Thanks for doing this by the way!

  13. Did Davante really start bad? Wasn’t he vibing with Rodgers right away in his rookie season?

  14. For started great / ended bad, I think Javon Walker would have been a better option. Lacy’s issues were mostly out of his control. I think most people were happy to get rid of Walker at the end.

  15. I think Rodgers and Favre have to be *considered* #2 for started/ended great. 30+ seasons of greatness and two of the arguable top 10 guys to ever sling it back to back. I get the splits were rough but if we even look around the league (eg. Richardson, Young, Cousins for an older guy), it’s never pretty. QBs think they (still) got it, management disagrees. Montana ended at Chiefs. Brady went to Tampa.

We shouldn’t let that stop us from giving them their props!

  16. Just want to say thanks for driving this – It’s been fun thinking through packers of old and this is some TOP shelf content creation

  17. Snubs for Great/Great are Rodgers and Favre. Both first ballot HOF, and turned in near-entire careers of winning football.

  18. Jordan love, started OK but those 5 straight superbowls to end his career were definitely great
