[Gomez] Blue Jays front office executive: “The #BlueJays are a lot more in on Juan Soto than most believe. People would be “shocked” when them find out how much the Jays want Soto”.

  1. As much as the Ohtani thing ended up as a crushing defeat, the thrill of the chase was still exhilarating. I’m also ready to be fooled again.

  2. Having Soto & Vlad as the core of your offence for the next decade+ just makes everyones job from top to bottom a whole lot easier.

  3. We’re collectively so jaded that these statements mean almost nothing. It’s kind of hilarious.

Agents constantly use the jays to get their players more money from elsewhere. Ohtani was the last straw for the majority of us I would assume.

  4. If they get left at the altar again, fine. Just have a better back up plan than last year – where they just signed as many utility players as possible

  5. I don’t think people would be surprised how much they want him. They’d be surprised if they outbid the Yankees and Mets.

  6. “While a lot of the boys in school would like to date the hottest girl in school, few people know the nerd kid with no chance technically wants to date her most.”

  7. This team needs more additions than just Soto. Even if we sign him we are still a 500 ball club. The LAAngels had Ohtani and Trout and still sucked.

  8. Shocked how much we WANT him??? Why would anyone be shocked about us wanting one of the best hitters in baseball. It’s not about how badly we want him, it’s about how likely we are to GET him, which as far as I can tell is extremely unlikely. Until that changes, I’m tuning all this out

  9. Why would a Blue Jays “front office executive” say this? Such nonsense. Why would anyone be shocked that the Jays want one of the best players in baseball. Offseason rumour season used to be fun.

  10. Extend Vladdy. Sign Willy Adames & Tyler O’Neill and rebuild the bullpen.

Soto would be nice but I can’t it.

  11. people would be shocked when them find out how much I want Margot Robbie to be my partner.

    /s

  12. I’m a lot more in on breakfast than most believe. People would be “shocked” when they find out how much I want breakfast.

  13. I don’t doubt the Jays and Rogers are trying to land Soto and probably pulling out all the stops, just like they did with Ohtani. Ultimately, you can offer the same amount of money as someone else or more but the player makes the final decision.

  14. So much negativity in this sub smh. If the jays miss out on Juan Soto I’ll be happy the front office tried to get him. They’re making an effort to make this team better and people just take it for granted. They’re were second on Ohtani too.

I’m glad they’re making an effort to improve this ball club.

  15. Welp, I’m ready to be hurt again. I blew out my knee three weeks ago at hockey, so it can’t get much worse.
