We have Oswaldo at home, we need less utility players and more good players who specialize in a position
Edit: I thought originally Donovan was a FA, and wasnβt worth it because of the $/possible bidding war for the upgrade at a utility spot.
Rumored by whom?
Obviously, but a cost controlled above average hitter that plays multiple premium positions is going to need a decently large trade package to acquire
Brendan Donovan would cost a fair amount in prospects. Heβs like Luis Arraez-lite as a singles hitter. Except he has power and can play defense too.
Iβve wanted Donovan for a while.
Heβs a career .280, 116 OPS+ hitter who gives plus defence in left right and third and average defence at second and short.
Heβs a lefty too and if you look at his expected home runs by stadium, he goes from 14 home runs this year to 19 at Yankee stadium
Nice piece, Iβm sure he wonβt be cheap.
Decent gleyber replacement I guess. This would feel like the Verdugo trade to me though.
If he can play defense, yes.
I just don’t see Cashman paying the price he’d command in a trade.
Do we really need him though? Already have Oswaldo and Berti.
