Tennessee Titans Film Breakdown: Rookie Offensive Tackle JC Latham BULLIED Joey Bosa in Week 10

In today’s film breakdown we look the performance of Tennessee Titans rookie left tackle JC Latham and how he bullied one of the best edge rushers in the NFL, Joey Bosa, in a Week 10 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers. Latham defeated all kinds of moves from Bosa including inside counters, speed to power and outside speed rushes. Not only that, but Latham won with his mind against Bosa as well, routinely tricking him into taking himself out of the play. Latham dominated others in the run game as well. Whether it be on down blocks, second-level climbs and kickouts, Latham controlled his matchup from start to finish.

  1. Tyler, it’s impressive how quickly JC has cemented himself as a key piece on that left side, especially against a guy like Bosa, as always, you nailed this breakdown. He adjusted to all the different moves Bosa threw his way, which was basically every move in the book. The way JC countered those inside rushes and held his own against speed off the edge was top-tier.

What stands out even more is his football IQ, you can see it clearly on those screens where he baits Bosa to take the inside path, knowing he’s got the leverage to set up the play. That’s not something you usually see from a rookie LT, especially not with the level of poise and control he’s showing. Plus, his timing on these plays is a game-changer, especially with how fast Levis needs to get rid of the ball given the current state of the line.

With JC and Pete locking down the blindside and showing they can hit the second level in the run game, it feels like the left side is finally solidifying. If we can support the right side with some TE/HB chips, it might just buy Levis the time he needs. Given JC’s and Pete's progress under Bill Callahan’s guidance, do you think it makes more sense to stick with Levis another year and target a solid RT early in the 2025 draft or take our, what I assume will be a top 5 pick and get a WR? Maybe getting someone like Tetairoa McMillan or Luther Burden in the 1st and then Kelvin Banks or Wyatt Milum in the 2nd, if they are there, unlikely as that is? Especially considering that this year’s QB class and free agent pool don’t seem all that strong?
