[Meisel] New unis

  1. Feels somewhat the same? More red I guess. I personally do not like those red hats at all though.

  2. I love these; the colors are popping. While I like the “script,” I’m happy to see more embracing of the newer font (like with the red uniforms). The blues are giving a little more “spring training” vibes, but I really dig them. Well done, Guards! Can’t wait for 2025.

  3. So seems like the main difference is piping around the neck and arms, the Navy alternate which fucks, the wordmark on the red uni, and the red hat (obvi). Definitely makes it more interesting than the last batch.

  4. I was hoping they would have drawn some inspiration from the City Connect from this past year. They are good, but I think they could be great if they would go a little more bold

  5. Torn on the red one, don’t hate it though. The blue one is very similar to the 80s designs, really think it’s a nice change! As long as City Connects still exist, then I’m cool with anything!

  6. I really like the striping on the sleeves and collar. A small addition that adds a lot to the uniform.

  7. I like the navy and red ones. Don’t like the red hat at all. Wish they went with the full racing stripe and added more art deco like the city connects, but still think overall it’s an upgrade!

  8. My only notes for these are that the red hat is ugly, and that these should all be pullover unis instead of button ups to fully embrace the retro vibes they’re clearly going for

  9. The red trim really clashes with those road grays, which is too bad because we’ve had some really nice grays in the past. I like the navy, but could do without the flying G sleeve.

  10. The gray road jersey looks too busy to me. The red piping/outline around the blue lettering just makes the wording look cramped/squashed for whatever reason. The navy is a nice change, like everyone else has said, the C logo could have been smaller.

In general I think these are decent, I would have done some piping down the placket, or something like that. The chest area is lacking something besides the navy, which is going for a different look than the rest.

  11. Love: the C on the navy alternates and the reintroduction of a red cap.

Not thrilled about: heavy sleeve/neck piping (too 70s for my taste), “Guardians” would look better on the red jersey if they arched it the way the did “Cleveland” on the greys.

Wish they had: incorporated more art deco, kept the all blue caps.

  12. Damnit these still suck. I want to move on from the Indians jerseys. Can we do something new?

  13. I really love them. My only regret is that they didn’t just go ahead and add City Connect as one of the home uniforms, haha.

  14. I don’t like the lack of consistency. Why do the block letters arc with ‘Cleveland’ but do not with ‘Guardians’? And then there is the script ‘Guardians’ which I feel like they keep only because of the tie to ‘Indians’ and related signage in the stadium. It seems like another step in a slow migration from one brand to another. Just cut the cord and go full Guards already!

  15. As a tattooer, we’ve got this graphic design principle that anything with a face or motion effect should be facing forward with the person. It just flows better. Seeing the flying G ball on the left sleeve, which moves in the opposite direction of the player, makes my eyes hurt

  16. Few thoughts:

    Needs piping down the buttons

I get why the font is the way that it is, but it doesn’t translate well onto jerseys, the bubble font was so much better.

Get rid of the terrible winged G logo and we’re in business

  17. I don’t mind the red hat, But why did they remove the all blue Road hat? It feels weird wearing the red brim on the road.
