  1. Why even tease Giants fan with this Soto news? Why would Soto join Giants only to get intentionally walked because there is zero protection in the Giants lineup. He is more likely to sign with Dodgers with protection from Ohtani, Betts, Freeman.

  2. It’s pointless to keep discussing Soto as a real possibility. Have you learned nothing over the past few off seasons? It’s not happening.

  3. Ben, with all due respect, I could watch your Podcasts more often if only you planned out and scripted your it better. It feels so haphazard like you're feeling your way through the broadcast. I spent nearly forty years in radio and television (voiceovers). If you want to be a source for Giants information, if you want to be someone to rely on as an authoritative source prepare prepare prepare. I wish you the best, I mean it.

  4. Can we be serious for a change? Why would Soto come here? Are we competitive? No. Are we willing to overpay? No. Do we have a competent Ownership group? No. Would Soto go to the Dodgers before the Giants? Yes. Would Soto go back to the Yankees before the Giants? Yes. Would Soto be able to achieve HOF HR's at Oracle? No.
I say all of this to say that objectively, the Giants are not even in the conversation, and we shouldn't even try for this one. Crash people's delusions now and move on to building the long-term roster.
