uh the Kansas City Chiefs travel to Buffalo to take on Josh Allen in the bills who’ve won five straight ESPN bet as Buffalo as the favorites to potentially hand the Chiefs their first L of the Season Patrick Mahomes has led the Chiefs to an undefeated start this season he’s top 10 in touchdowns qbr total yards per game and completion percentage while his 12 interceptions are the third most in his career momes hasn’t thrown a pick in his last two games the first time he’s done that this season okay Cam does Casey need more from momes in order to accomplish the three p uh I would say yes and no but the thing that people are not mentioning in Kansas City they are playing complimentary football better than any other team in the NFL and playing complimentary football will beat a winning performance every single time we don’t need Patrick Mahomes to go out and slice and dice for 350 or throw for 400 we don’t need Travis Kelce to catch two touchdowns three touchdowns 15 receptions we’ve seen that happen already we’re seeing what we need to see from the defense we know what we got from the Special Teams the offense can produce that complimentary football is the reason why Kansas City is a dangerous team and is one of the dangerous teams but Stephen a seven of nine have been one- score wins so these are tight wins where are you on this I mean just be careful Molly I mean you might be careful what you trying to say I mean my goodness I mean it might you might be bringing in the question Patrick Mahomes if you don’t word this correctly I mean my good my goodness I mean we have to be clear I mean this is a three time Super Bowl champion okay this is a three time Super Bowl champion for be it for anybody to bring up how he’s looking right now far be it for everybody for anybody to bring up that you know what he’s he he’s still Patrick Mahomes but in the same breath he hasn’t looked like the great Patrick Mahomes we’ve known to come we we’ve been known we’ve been known to come in love and and reveral oh no no no now he’s looked a bit ordinary and they’re being saved by their defense I mean is it safe to say that RC and L is it safe to say that cam I think it is based on the answer that you just gave I just want to make sure I just want to make sure because the answer to this question do the Chiefs need more from Patrick Mahomes the three Pete you’re damn right he they do and here’s the reason why because of the competition that you’re going to have to go against is it Lamar Jackson great aren’t we hearing him knocking on the door RC I think we are I mean Josh Allen he’s getting ready to show up this weekend don’t we expect greatness from Josh Allen I think we do by the way the Pittsburgh Steelers will come up the rear look at them making some noise we didn’t anticipate that coming now we talking about Russell Wilson in a very complimentary fashion we can’t ignore that right we a even mention the Chargers and how they’ve looked with you know Mr Harbaugh himself I mean we didn’t mention that and that’s just the AFC not even bringing up the AF the NFC okay so I’m just looking at it from this standpoint I’m saying in order for the Chiefs to three Peak they’re going to have to be better than they they’ve been offensively okay and as a result of that you’ll need Patrick Mahomes to be better than what he has been this season thus far I hope that’s safe to say yeah no that that that that is safe to say and it’s safe to expect see so like every Friday this is the crew that comes on first take and I know certain things about the four of you that are going to be consistent because over time you have shown me that that is who you are we had the same conversation about Patrick Mahomes last year are they going to need more for Patrick Mahomes in the playoffs oh my God the playoffs don’t run through Arrowhead what will Patrick Mahomes do oh late in the game against Buffalo he’s gonna hit mvs for the big play oh what’s GNA happen late in the game against the Baltimore Ravens even though they play great defense in the second half they number one defense all year we’re going to get down to the time where it has to happen we’re going to find Travis Kelce throughout the first half oh you’re going to double Travis Kelce on a Gotta Have It play I know mvs have dropped has dropped football I’mma go to him and make a play oh what’s gonna happen in overtime of the Super Bowl Patrick Mahomes gets the ball and everybody in the world knows that Patrick Mahomes is gonna score a touchdown when Patrick Mahomes needs to be Patrick Mahomes for the Kansas City Chiefs no matter who is around him in the biggest moments that’s exactly who he’s been and now we’re watching a team that shifted it’s not that explosive Tyreek Hill offense where you can expect the big play all the time but you can expect the right play you can expect the play that’s going to win a football game and you can watch the Kansas City Chiefs when cam says complimentary football this is what I think when I watch the Kansas City Chiefs play the plays seem more important to them than they seem to the other team when the Denver Broncos had a chance to kick a field goal and win the game that play to me seemed more important to the Kansas City Chiefs field goal block team than it did to the Denver Broncos field goal Protection Team and those are the teams that win championships and I believe that’s how Patrick Mahomes approaches the game as well Hopkins has been such a Saving Grace for Patrick Mahomes who yes rumors of his demise were not greatly exaggerated at the time he was putting up career lows in every single statistic but since de Hop’s in the fold uh Mahomes qbrs jumped 13 points his completion percentage is up four points he’s got 40 more yards per game he’s got six touchdowns in his last three games compared to six touch Downs in the first six games and more importantly he’s cut down on the turnovers he had eight turnovers through the first six games he’s had one since dehop got into the fold but you’re right while this offense is not exactly like the Tyreek Hill they definitely need more explosive plays from this Chief’s offense and honestly last year it didn’t affect them he was 27th in the league in uh in downfield passes so it wasn’t a big deal but this year in particular he’s only got six deep pass completions every single other quarterback that’s a full-time starter has more that is one wrinkle that they can get better at and improve and in particular for the Chiefs they don’t need more from Patrick Mahomes they need more from that run game Kareem hunt has been solid he’s been okay he’s carried the rock more than anybody else since he joined the fold back with the Chiefs and he’s averaging less than four yards per play they will get better when they have Isaiah Pacho who is back at practice and we expect to see him soon but in terms of Patrick Mahomes himself he’s doing so much better now that de Hop’s in the fold and I don’t I don’t agree with that sentiment so so so so L Duncan a you know you basically without saying the word without saying the word you essentially accused me of filibuster in what do you think you just did I mean I just more from Patrick Mahomes all I’m saying is you went around a block up the hill around the corner before you came back to it Al and that’s right she up because I love hearing you speak it doesn’t bother me at all all I’m trying to say to you is this Patrick momes with everything that you just said about everything else about the Chiefs needing Patrick Mahomes you’re going to need more from him to threee are you saying that’s correct yeah no I that you need no I think you need exactly what you’re getting from him right now if you can get the explosive play get plays going that’s great didn’t need it last year to win a Super Bowl you need more from your running game which is going to get a boost when beo comes back but in terms of Mahomes himself we’re already seeing a vast improvement over the last three games since he got dehop so I’m looking at a Patrick Mahomes obviously he keeps coming back coming back from double digit deficits props to him but last time I checked when you score the other team gets the ball so what I’m thinking about is this if your offense is struggling in any kind of way the way Kansas City’s has struggled from time to time before they’ve ultimately pulled out nail biters what if you’re going up against a team that’s that’s able to take advantage of that Kansas City defense what if you’re going up against a team that’s putting up some numbers Patrick Mahomes I don’t think that there’s no way on Earth to me that the Kansas City Chiefs three PE would Patrick Mahomes playing the way that he’s been playing as as of this season I know I’m not talking about the come back I know he’s going to come back cuz he’s going to find a way to get it done if he’s close enough I’m just simply saying the better teams are going to find a way to put some points up on the board and I’m going to need their offense to be more prolific if I think they’re going to threee that’s all and they know how to they know how to win that way too I mean this is the Patriots RC they are the Patriots where they’re either dominating you or they’re playing posum long enough for you to think they’re dead and before you go to pick them up they spring alive and bite your face off like that’s literally what this team is almost the Patriots almost the Patriots not what they do not quite consistency a little longer before I invoke New England Patriots and Tom Brady and Bill bich they’re getting there though they’re the the closest comp I would say this uh to your point uh Stephen A Smith you said a key word that I’m not going to let you get away with you said what if there’s a lot of what if if that happens that never happened what if they play a team that’s able to put up points what if they’re able to listen there’s a statistic in sports especially in football that’s not monitored that should start being monitored since we have all these analytics that’s Incorporated in the game of football today I don’t think there’s another team in the NFL that performs better and got to have it moments than a Kansas City Chiefs if we need to play we’re going to play POS if we need to put up points we’re going to put up points so to the point of RC Stephen A Al Molly when it got to have it when you have to have it there’s no better team to be around than the Kansas City Chiefs if we need a black field goal Kansas City yeah I call that being clutch and and your earlier comp it’s like the Patriots finishing the job so I’ll give you that L dun they’re never dead they’re
