  1. Soto imitates Papi and Manny when he was a kid and becomes a superstar, I imitated Nomah and all I got was OCD

  2. I’ve been pretty cynical about the Red Sox for the past 5 or 6 years (rightfully so, I’d argue; but that’s a story for another day), but I think I’d be willing to call it a minor blip if they were to go and sign Soto.

And I’d go full tabula rasa if they sign Soto and then he makes a fairly nice catch and then jumps into the stands and high fives somebody, and then still has enough time to double up some former Red Sox jobber at first.

Especially if it was some moron-ass jobber who went on SportsCenter and said he didn’t want ~~Manny~~ Soto on the team and wanted ~~A-Rod~~ Manny Machado on the team, instead.

  3. Manny spent his entire career trying to get out of Boston and was at Dodger stadium for their World Series run. Not sure this one helps us as much as we think

  4. David Ortiz needs to talk to this young man and steer him in the right direction. Away from NY.

  5. If I had to guess we’ll probably ultimately get outbid for Soto. Maybe not, I give us a 20% chance. I think we’re going to make a legitimate offer and I think our front office is truly making an effort. But we’re not the only team and the Mets seem to be pretty determined. I also think Teoscar will re-sign with the Dodgers. He wants to be in LA and they want him there. We have a better chance of getting Soto than we do of getting Teoscar. I think the player we’ll end up getting is Crochet. And that’ll be a big help to our rotation. But I don’t think we’ll get Soto or Teoscar, and it won’t be because our front office didn’t try.
