It isn't confirmed, but the numbers make it clear that the Cohens are going all in on this investment. Discuss.

  1. A little scared to give him Ohtani money when he doesn’t pitch and he isn’t a great fielder. But we will see.

  2. I honestly feel like these numbers make no sense , ohtanis deal is heavily deferred and he pitches , his deal is worth only like 500 in todays dollars.

  3. The Mets probably have a better idea about long-term financial forecasting than most teams, both for their own outlook and for how they value individual players.

Whatever dollar amount is being thrown around, that’s going to include tons of creative deferrals and bonuses that help to keep the AAV lower so they have more room on the roster for signing other players.

Ultimately, if they sign him, then it will be on a contract they can afford and that will still be profitable for the organization.

  4. This is the first time I’ve seen the Mets linked to 700 rumors since the meeting. I really like how little has come out this week regarding to their involvement in him, just hope it works out.

  5. If the Baerga/Gomez rumor is at all true then if Cohen is willing to go to $660MM, he’s willing to go to $700MM if he has to.

  6. Hey Mike, I have a new question, do the Red Sox and White Sox get together. They have that Sock connection. Similar to how the San Francisco Giants and the New York Giants get together

  7. Do you think a team can go 162-0 in the regular season? I think it can happen am i right?

  8. This is brutal to listen to. For those who don’t want to hear it. Basically says Mets won’t be outbid. Starts speculating on rumored offers. He isn’t breaking anything or even saying anything new which is typical Francesa.
