PITTSBURG — The Pittsburg State football team earned the No. 3 seed in Super Region Three when the 28-team NCAA Division II playoff field was announced Sunday (Nov. 17).
The Gorillas, who wrapped up an 8-2 regular season campaign with a 23-7 victory over Northwest Missouri State University Saturday (Nov. 16), earned the No. 3 seed in the seven-team Super Region. Pitt State will host Harding University (10-1) from the Great American Conference next Saturday (Nov. 23) at Carnie Smith Stadium. Kickoff for the first round action is set for 1 p.m. (CST).
Tickets for the post-season game are $12 for reserved seats, $10 for general admission and $5 for PSU Students (with I.D.). All tickets on game day will be $12.
Tickets will go on sale at 8:30 a.m. Monday (Nov. 18) at the PSU Ticket Office for season ticket holders and PSU students. PSU season ticket holders have until Tuesday (Nov. 19) to purchase their seats. All unsold season tickets will be released and made available to the general public Wednesday (Nov. 20). Per NCAA rules, there will be no complimentary tickets to the contest.
On Tuesday, seats in non season ticket holder sections will be available for purchase by the general public. This includes Sections O, Q, R, S, T, U, V (General Admission, $10) and Sections A, B, H, I, KK, LL, MM, NN, SS, TT, UU, VV (Reserved, $12).
Starting Wednesday, tickets in all sections will be made available to the public.

The Gorillas are making their 21st trip to the NCAA Division II playoffs. Pitt State has posted a 27-18 record in NCAA post-season play. The Gorillas have made 27 trips to NAIA or NCAA playoff competition overall. The Bisons, the defending NCAA Division II national champions, are making their ninth all-time playoff appearance.
Pitt State has compiled a 27-7 record in home playoff action.
The Pitt State – Harding contest will be the second postseason meeting between the squads. The Gorillas posted a 59-42 win over the Bisons in the first round of the 2014 NCAA Division II playoffs in Pittsburg on Nov. 22, 2014.
The winner of the Pitt State – Harding match-up will advance to face the winner between No. 2 seed Grand Valley State (10-1) and UIndy (10-1) on Nov. 30.
In the other half of the Super Region Three bracket, No. 4 seed Central Oklahoma (10-1) will host Ouachita Baptist (10-1) on Nov. 23 with the winner advancing to face No. 1 seed Ferris State (10-1) on Nov. 30 at Big Rapids, Mich.
