This in lies the problem. Imagine how good the team would be if Jamal scored as consistently as Brunson or Mitchell.

  1. Jamal’s turning into Melvin Gordon. Ask him and he’s the best player on the planet. All while not looking at his stats or in the mirror

  2. It’s no longer lights not bright enough, but lights never bright enough.

Am I forever grateful for him being a core piece to getting us a championship? Absofuckinglutely. But that doesn’t mean he should deserve the contract that he got based on his past play. He hasn’t been good for a while now (streaky at best) since the championship, and he’s clearly nowhere near the value of his contract.

I get why it had to be done because it’s not like we had many other options, but you do wish someone would hold him more accountable for the contract he got and his expected value of play.

  3. I think Jamal has lost a huge step mentally and his game is toast until he recovers. Liability on the floor more than a plus.

  4. He needs a huge wake up call rather than getting his ego stroked by the FO and coaching staff. For his sake he needs to like go on Inside The NBA and get shamed by Shaq, Ernie & Chuck

  5. In 19 seasons Shaq earned $292 million. In 8 seasons Jamal has earned $172 million. If the Nuggets resign him, he will have a larger career earning than shaq had. He is simply egregiously overpaid.

  6. His peers are not multi time all stars, that’s the misconception. He is not an all star or all nba player

  7. It’s just reality. Not even mad at him I just don’t think his body has the quickness anymore. He’s just not that guy.

But he can pull through in clutch moments and win games. He’s smart and crafty, but he is not elite like that. Sacrificed a lot for the championship run so I’ll never hate him for it

  8. Derrick White averaging 19 points, 40.5% 3pt, 4.3 ast, 4.5 reb, +4.1 Bpm, plus defense.

    D. White making 20 million this season with a 4/126 extention, that’s just over half what Jamal makes.

Having said that, Jamal only 9 games into the season. He needs to get right physically and mentally if possible.

  9. Im sure flying out to UFC in New York last night didn’t affect his performance at all

  10. Defenses look like they collapse on Murray so much harder when Jok isn’t on the floor than when he is (which makes sense). I think if there was another reasonable threat out there besides Murray that it would let him bring out his game a little more. Right now he’s having to just ditch the ball so he doesn’t get doubled into a turn over nearly every play

  11. His contract is going to be a terrible drag on the rest of Jokic’s prime. I don’t think Joker would want him traded though, way too loyal.

  12. If he was playing great defense, I could let go his inefficient play, but he isn’t. I guess the injuries finally caught up to him, it might be too late for him…
