• a basketball game where a highly-ranked team is expected to win against a lesser opponent, but the game is not as easy as expected (especially when the following game for the highly-ranked team is against another highly-ranked opponent). It's rare for a top team to not face some difficulty during the season.

The Hornets are in a perfect position to upset the Cavaliers on the road and end their undefeated season. The Cavs are reportedly resting their best player, Donovan Mitchell. No doubt that Mitchell will be available for the Celtics matchup in Boston on Tuesday night.

Hornets are playing back to back game in Cleveland (after a hard fought victory against the Bucks yesterday). But if LaMelo Ball and the rest of the team can dig deep to defeat the Cavs today, they will be in the record books for ending one of the hottest winning streaks in NBA history.

  1. Elite teams enjoy playing down sometimes (I know because I am a Pittsburgh Steelers fan).

  2. Logically here, wouldn’t it be in the Cavs best interest to go all out against the Hornets and then relax for the Celtics game?

The W/L column doesn’t discriminate in quality of opponent.

  3. I heard the Celtics Announcer yesterday telling that they will play the cavs next game who are 14-0.
And playing the Hornets, “so we will play them at 15-0.”

Never seen so much disrespect … after the Tatum “[…] when you play the Hornets” quote, it’s hard not to want that team fail.

  4. We’ve been here bofore; we’ve ended historic streaks in the past: the Nets, who had a streak of 18 going at the start of their season before they finally won one against us.
