[Rosenthal] Why Jays may not make sense for Juan Soto, the case for Alex Bregman and more MLB notes

If Ken is starting the week off with this, then we’re signing Juan Soto.
Why not both?
The odds of signing Soto just went up.
[Sir-Pounce] Why Ken Rosenthal may actually be the biggest bitch in baseball and the case for him supplanting Heyman’s title.
I don’t really care what the creepy bow tie man says
For our sake, I hope they have negotiations moving forward with both Guerrero and Soto in some type of “we’ll make sure Vlad is on lock, sign this contract” and vice versa.
I still have very little faith in the meanderings of this baseball ‘purist’ I feel his bow-tie has been too tight the past couple of years. Here’s to hoping he’s loosened up some since one of the ‘blue-blood’ teams have won the WS this year.
You don’t so eh
“Why the Jays signing Soto is bad for the game of baseball”
Thats what I’ve been saying. You guys can laugh all u want but he brings up a good point. Vladdy should be extended already to make it more appealing for soto. Our FO is clueless.
Honestly I can’t stand this little shit after his “Bad for Baseball article.” This is more of the same.
Soto makes sense for any team in Baseball. Give me a break.
In a vacuum we need more than Juan Soto, he’s kind of right. But that’s like saying we shouldn’t get better because we also have to get better before we get better.
Mind you I don’t think we end up getting him
It doesn’t matter what makes sense, we’ll get neither of them
Maybe the Jays should stop signing washed up cheaters to long term deals. Unless we gonna bang trash cans these guys are never gonna perform close to what they were when they knew what was coming.
Imagine a scenario where the Jays abuse the hell out of the MLB contact structure. 1B+ deal to sign class Vlad/Soto(/Bo) in a 90% deferred deal and still have a ton of money to go get talent.
>I’m all for any team making an all-out push for Juan Soto. Every team with resources should make an all-out push for Juan Soto. But don’t the Toronto Blue Jays sort of have it backward?
Hell of an opening from the guy who was shaking in his boots about the Jays possibly signing Ohtani. Literally the first sentence of the article is an obvious lie.
He’s for 29 teams going all out for Soto (more likely 28 — I doubt he’s too fond of the Padres given recent history). Is his ego still bruised from whoever lied to him about the Jays getting Brantley?
>Perhaps Guerrero is telling the Jays, “Find some players to put around me, and then I’ll consider staying.”
Yeah, perhaps. I could see how you could come to this conclusion if you threw journalistic integrity to the wind (which this hack did years ago), put your fingers in your ears, and ignored everything Guerrero has said on this subject. If you did that then yes, perhaps this could be a real take.

This guy is a sad excuse for a journalist.
