Jamal Murray Under Fire: Why Are The Nugget So Bad Without Nikola Jokic?

2. I have a feeling when this Russ experience ends, he’s going to give a quote how poorly Jamal took the seriousness of his career. He has an opportunity to play with an all-time guy and is fumbling the bag. I’m not hopeful at all with his approach. He hasn’t matured mentally

3. I gave up on Murray and rest of the bozos long time ago. Honestly what's most frustrating for me is the fact that Jokic won't leave Denver EVER. He doesn't like the culture in the USA so there is no chance in hell he will even consider moving out of Denver. So he will finish his career with 1 ring and that's about it. Over the years I said multiple times there is something extremely fishy about the fact that Malone can't give any praise to Jokic without mentioning how good Jamal is, even when he was playing like a complete AHH. Just look at any post game press and you will see what I'm talking about. Jamal is a spoiled little brat who was convinced he will be the star of this team but Jokic is a big guy so he casts a huge shadow, one that only kept growing since he only got better over time so Jamal never managed to leave his shadow and he can't get over it mentally.

4. If we can't trade Murray, how about we trade the Joker? The nuggets can bulid the future around Murray and MPJ. Problem solved.

7. Anybody that thinks Murray had a good season last year is ignoring the box scores of EVERY Nuggets loss. Murray either didn’t play, or he played like crap. Jackson sucked just as bad in every loss. Murray is currently washed. Whether it’s physical or psychological, it doesn’t matter. Will he ever justify his new contract? I don’t believe he will. Murray is currently the 17th highest paid player in the NBA, and he’ll be 17th next season too. If you had all 30 GM’s pick from every rostered player currently, to build whatever team they wanted, would Murray be the 17th player picked? Maybe he’s picked 17th by one GM. 🙃

12. Becouse Jamal was never good. The only good player without Jokic is AG. Denver is one of the worst organizations, last year they didn't played J. Huff entire year as a second center and they lost. Denver is a very bad organization

13. What I think they are lacking is the impact that Jokic has as the floor coach. He’s always telling the other guys where to be and what to do. It’s a floor leadership gap that’s hurting them the most. Add in the fact that both Murray and Westbrook both take these bad shots exactly when the Nuggets need to be smart on offense. Giving Murray a little bit of a pass. The effort is there – 7ast, 6 rebounds, 2 blocks and 3 steals is effort.

14. What piss me off is that if we look across the league and other teams #2 option they are so good. So consistent. Always able to carry the team themselves meanwhile our #2 and #3 can't even freaking score 100 points

18. The Nuggets management who decided to give Jamal Murray the bag are stupid. I told you all last summer that they should not have given Jamal another big contract. Now they are stuck for his contract. This is the worst thing that they could have done for the Nuggets.

22. I was surprised how bad the nuggets are without Jokic. Jamal, Porter, Braun, wilson and Westbrook should have been enough to beat the pelicans bench.

23. The problem is how are the Nuggets going to do anything with Jamal playing like crap? He's signed a $50m contract and it's starting to look like Bradley Beal's albatross contract with the Wizards. Can he improve? He's got 70 games to do better, but he looks like he's getting worse and worse. Something is seriously wrong with that guy and he is just contemptuous of all criticism of him. That's what alienates everybody.

24. Question is: why denver nuggets players do not learn from Jokic how to play, even though they are playing and in training with him for few years now (most of them)

25. For the Joker absence games, for our starting lineup why don't we try Westbrook at the 1, Murray at the 2, Braun at the 3, MPJ at the 4, and Saric at the 5. This would allow us to use Westbrook as a cutter/slasher and allow him to drive and dish out to shooters. At least the offense would have an actual Identity instead of looking lost and not knowing what to do.

    Then we could try giving Trey Alexander some playing time at the 1 and Strawther at the 2, Tyson at the 3, Njaji at the 4 (since we are not likely to win the Joker absence games anyway). If the bench is going to suck either way, at least try something different.

26. Now you can clearly see that the Denver Nuggets are actually Nikola Jokić and possibly Gordon (from the standard first lineup). Murray and Porter are trash either because of mental problems or because of physical problems it doesn't matter anymore. They cost a lot of money and are not worth it. Also, it is completely clear why three players from the championship team left them during these transfer windows. Jamal and Porter need to be replaced with useful players (and even limited but confident in their abilities) as a matter of urgency.
    Jokić is a good man, he appreciates what the franchise has done and is still doing it for him, but everything has to come to an end. This is a pure waste of real chances for another trophy.

27. Matt with the dumbest takes as always. Yes we can be outraged because it's not like the Nuggets were playing the Celtics. They were playing the hospital Pelicans and Grizzlies and still couldnt put up a fight.

28. Ever since Jamal got the max contract, he has not been very effective and that includes the embarrassing play or lack thereof for Canada in the Olympics.
