  6. I’ll never understand why they sign these “veterans” for a few mil instead of just giving some young guy making the minimum more playing time. It’s not like they got great returns worth the few mil for all the fuckers they traded at da deadline last year. It’s also time to say goodbye to guys like Sheets & Vaughn who are now vets and continue to suck. Take a chance on some guy from da minors instead.

  7. Slater made a swing change in mid ‘21 and looked to be on the way to a big late career breakout, but hasn’t been able to stay healthy, including a bad concussion last year that took a while to recover from.

    He also mashes LHP, running a career .800 OPS in one of the most pitcher friendly parks in the league. So worst case he is Benintendi’s platoon partner.

    Low risk signing with some upside. The kind of thing we should be doing until the kids prove they’re ready for the show.

  8. I don’t think we should be criticizing this hire. Finding a player on Only Fans is outside the box thinking.

  15. Getz shopping for players like he’s digging through the bargain bin at Payless Shoes for some discounted Rebooks. Can’t really fault him. We’re not competing next year, just need some warm bodies until prospects can start taking serious reps.
