[Astros on X] Minute Maid Park will now be Daikin Park

Can’t wait to say “Going to DP” and then having to clarify after.
MMP had a better ring to it.
One of Cranes biggest clients 🤷🏼‍♂️ welcome to the Ice Box
Why does every rename get worse than the one before it?
What happened to the game I love?
That sucks. Minute Maid was a classic name. Also Daikin is a shit name. The Rays are probably not keeping Tropicana on the new stadium either, so the OJ fields are no more.
RIP The Juice Box
This is definitely better than an Oil/Gas sponsorship, at least.
It’ll always be Enron Field to me.
Said yesterday and I’ll say it again. This is a massive fumble by Waste Management. Would’ve been the absolute perfect name for that ballpark, especially given Waste Management is based in Houston and for other reasons
Maybe they’ll get the AC system up to par
No change with ever be as bad as Miller to AmFam and I’m sure it’s mostly nostalgia but so many of the new sponsors just feel worse sounding as stadium names
Are they gonna put a bunch of air conditioners in the train instead of oranges now?
Kinda sad even tho I hate the Astros
MMP was kinda an iconic abbreviation of the placeÂ
So their major announcement is their stadium is now named after a radish.
Is Daikin Park air conditioned?
Named after Japanese company that makes HVACs and PTACs
Will the train in left field start carrying air conditioners now?
I give it about 6 years before I stop calling it Minute Maid
Was really hoping for Mattress Mack’s Baseball Emporium but this’ll be fine I guess
This feels wrong
Yeah sure it will. Just like Miller Park.
Fun Fact: 2025 will be the first MLB season in 26 years in which zero teams will be playing in a stadium named after an orange juice company
The Air Box was born!
Cant wait to see the size of the ornamental minisplit they add to the park.

It will now be known as Diagon alley park to me.
Daikin suck on my nuts lmao
This likely signals Astros are going to aggressively pursue Sasaki
The way we’ve gone from two juice stadiums in ’24 to none in ’25… it’s sad to see what the league has become.
Astros getting that Yen
I’ve heard of the company as they run ads during Mets games on the radio
Daikon Radish park you say?
What is Daikin? Is this the five greatest rappers of all time I keep hearing about?
The air conditioner? Lol
RIP to both juice stadiums
How unfortunate! I just had a Daikin Heat Pump installed last month. Now I have to root for it to fail. Bummer!
Awful name. The only positive is that it’s not Enron. HVAC companies from Japan rarely go under or cook the books.
We’re really going from two juice themed stadiums in 2024 to zero in 2025.

The train will now carry air conditioners
Should be Dokken park
So does this mean the Astros are going to be in on thr Japanese players now?
I wish we could just come up with our own fan-picked name and stick with it. Like, name it after a legendary player or the part of town it’s in, anything. And then we could just ignore these crappy corporate names.
Naming your stadium after an HVAC company and not going with Trane for a stadium with a giant Train in it is the biggest missed opportunity ever
A Japanese Zaibatsu sponsoring a baseball park in Houston, TX has major cyberpunk energy
