Is it time for the Cleveland Browns to fire Kevin Stefanski & Andrew Berry?

Things have gone very south for the Cleveland Browns and a coaching change could be on the horizon.

The Browns entered the fourth quarter of Sunday’s game tied with the New Orleans Saints but allowed 21 points over the final 15 minutes of a 35-14 loss. Cleveland is now 2-8 and in the basement of the AFC.

There weren’t many silver linings to take away from the Browns’ latest loss, as their lack of effort and execution across all phases of the game took center stage. The disappointing performance has intensified scrutiny of head coach Kevin Stefanski’s future, with veteran insider Tony Grossi of ESPN Cleveland suggesting that a coaching change might be on the horizon.

Cleveland faces off against the AFC North-leading Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday Night Football this week, and another embarrassing loss could mark the end of Stefanski’s time with the Browns, per Grossi.

“Methinks Browns nearing a decision on Mike Vrabel. Pittsburgh game will be huge for Kevin Stefanski. Life isn’t fair,” Grossi wrote on X on Sunday night.

Mike Vrabel Expected to be Top Head Coaching Candidate
The Browns brought in Vrabel this offseason as a coaching and personnel consultant after he failed to land a head coaching gig. It was a surprising hiring, but Cleveland now has one of the most highly sought-after head coach candidates in-house.

If Cleveland decides to move on from Stefanski, there is a good chance that the reins could be handed over to Vrabel. He amassed a 54-45 record with the Tennessee Titans over six seasons.

Dianna Russini reported this week that Vrabel will be among the top candidates during the next hiring cycle.

“For now, the former player-turned-coach getting the most hype around the league is former Titans head coach and current Browns consultant Mike Vrabel,” Russini reported on November 16. “As owners look around at the league’s successful head coaches, the culture-builders stand out (think Dan Campbell, Mike Tomlin and Raheem Morris). Vrabel fits into that category, a former player who can unite a locker room while holding his players accountable. Vrabel was a finalist for the Chargers and Falcons jobs last year. He wants to coach in 2025 and I expect him to have his pick of available jobs.”

  1. Kevin Stefanski said that they limited Chubb's carries this week because they play again on Thursday. I am not a Kevin Stefanski fan by any means, but given the devastating injury that Nick Chubb is trying to return from, that explanation makes sense to me.

  2. Is this on stefanski or is this on ownership. Lets look at stefanski all his qbs were good and improving under him and his staff. Watson was 5-1 improving under stefanski and van pelt. Turn to this year and the entire staff is gone and i have no doubt that haslams forced dorsey on stefanski. I thi k stefanski had his say completely dismantled. I also think Berry has been one of the worst gms cause he has missed on 85% of picks he has made and the analytics have also failed.

  3. How about Jon Gruden he wants to come back to football he's from Youngstown Oh,,,or Mike Vrable someone who knows what it takes to win in this region also a leader of men both these guys fit that criteria

  4. When it's all said and done, the best organizations have Alpha dog personalities at general manager head coach and quarterback (the triumvirate). Andrew Berry and Kevin Stefanski are the most blah vanilla nice guys you can find. Not exactly inspiring anybody. Football is an emotional aggressive violent man's game. You can't have leaders that have the personality of a golfer. Teams take on the personalities of their leadership.

  5. Fire Berry and DePodesta. The inconsistency with their picks is just too much to avoid. Fire Stefanski and hire Mike Vrabel. He's there right now and he's the perfect fit for a team and city like Cleveland. An Ohio guy through and through. He has that Tomlin/Harbaugh type attitude that players react well to and want to play for. Those three things need to happen immediately. After that see what pieces you can trade to get some draft capital because God knows we need it. Then move to free agency and see what you can make happen. Vrabel to me is the biggest piece. He's a head coach I really believe could help get this team where they want to be and be consistent year after year. Let's go Browns.

  6. Depedesto need to go. Take his damn spreadsheets and go back to MLB! Screw his analytics. We have been a joke since 99. Things are getting better. Berry can go as well.

  7. Stephanski is horrible! Always has been! Go back and watch all the games since you forget so fast!

    – Clock management- SUCKS
    – Adjustments in game- SUCKS
    – Play calling- SUCKS
    – Knowing his personnels strengths and using it effectively- SUCKS
-Going for it on 4th down when he should've kicked field goals lost us at least 10 games under this clown!
