It’s not looking like he’s going to make a quick return. Center depth in Hartford isn’t great. Realistically what (good) center options are out there for a trade?

Throwing Gus Nyquist out there as a rental from a very bad Preds team.
Andreas Athanasiou, Morgan Geekie, or Yanni Gourde would be the 3 options i would like the Rangers to pursue if the Chytil new is worse than expected.
I want to make sure we are talking about the human and just want the guy to stay healthy outside of hockey.
Dont even know what Drury tries to go for in this situation. Maybe with the whole Zibanejad situation you try to get a 1C and move Zibanejad to 2C to take that pressure out of his mind to be THE guy. Like Zegras maybe?? A lot of people think he’s overrated but you cannot discredit putting up two 60+ point seasons before turning 22 years old. And he would absolutely cook between Panarin and Laf
Zegras is a better player than his points this season. And he matches Chytils playstyle perfectly. He also has NYR connections with Kreider and Quick. Kronin has just destroyed Zegras’s confidence and further killed the kids spirt by trading away his best friend. Our roster is constructed in a way that needs 3 scoring lines. We need a respected 3rd line that will eat minutes against other teams top pairs so Mika and Troch lines can get some easier matchups. We saw what happened with Wennberg last season, that line was a non factor and with a play driving center like chytil they’ve been one of the best lines in the nhl. Another safe 3c who won’t drive play will not help this team. If chytil is out long term again either ride Brodz and invest the cap space in a top 4 dman or get a needle moving center like a Zegras
One interesting thing is that last year the Rangers put Fil on IR the day after the Carolina game where he collided with Fast. This time around it’s been three days with no designation. That gives me some hope that maybe it’s not as bad 🤷🏻♂️
He has another concussion. LTIR him and have a serious conversation with him about his future beyond hockey.

Kupari would slot in nicely with Kakko and Cuylle. Instant chemistry with Kakko. Ship em back Trouba and get two birds stoned at once. Oh right, no move clause or whatever…
Not sure why opinion on zegras is so high. He hasn’t done anything in a while and looking for a fresh start to get back on track in NY never bodes well for a player to come to NY. Fans turn on you quick here, just ask Mika. I can see zegras not performing well due to limited mins and struggling in playoffs due to his lack of physical play.
