[Doyle] A bit of a double-whammy for the Pirates here too as Skenes has earned a full-year of service for winning RotY. Instead of being under team control through 2030, he is now controlled through 2029.

  1. Good for him. He was never going to see 2029 in a Pirates uniform anyway. Probably going to push his trade up to winter 2027

  2. We knew that back in May when they called him up. We cheered, cried, griped and knew this was happening. This lights a fire under termarr and the other guys that have a roster spot available.

  3. There are a ton of fans in this fan base who can’t stand the idea of being happy so they just look for any reason to be mad and bring down everyone else with them.

    The Pirates have an ace starter that just won ROY and will finish top-3 in Cy Young voting. Can’t you just enjoy that rather than being insufferable shits looking for reasons to bring everyone down?

  4. When does his arbitration start in 2026? If he continues that pace, he’s going to get 25-30 million. If true, good chance he’s traded after next season

    Just pay the guy. You have the money. He deserves the money. He’ll go into the hof as a Pirate.
