Summation: The defense and running game seem to be the worst aspects of the Raiders performance. 18.5 offensive ppg is not great, but if the defense didn't give up four touchdowns every game, and our rushing totals were on par with the league, we'd be in much better shape.
Do the numbers lie?

  1. The peaks of the defence have been way higher than the peaks of the offence and to be honest it’s probably harder to lock in on defence when you have the bumbling fool that is garner Minshew giving the opposing defence 2-3 golden int opportunities combined with a plethora of random fumbles.

Add in that all of our major injuries or on the defensive side of the ball and I can let it slide. If Graham is back next season I’m totally fine with that

  2. Derek Carr syndrome. Our passing numbers look good because we’re constantly down by 2+ scores and abandoning the run.

  3. Fastest way to improve the overall defense is to consistently put pressure on the QB. The ball must not be allowed to leave the Quarterback’s hands because once it does it’s almost always yards against us.

  4. It’s both sides of the balls fault really, but doesn’t help theyre on the field the whole goddamn game.

  5. Rushing isn’t just “one of the worst in the league” – it’s the worst in modern NFL history by advanced metrics.

  6. First, how many of those points come from minshew pick 6s or minshew turnovers giving the other team the ball in scoring position?

Second, we get a lot or garbage time yards for being down on a consistent basis. Run game sucks but we also abandon it for the same reason I just mentioned. And the defense is on the field for most of the game because the offense sucks or have to defend a short field after a turnover because our offense sucks.
