Who Started OK and Ended OK for the Colts?

  1. Without thinking too much into this, Anthony Walker Jr. jumped straight out amongst the recent guys.

    Late draft pick, made the roster, earned his way into a starting spot, kept it for his rookie contract, left as a free agent because he was just OK.

  2. I gotta go Justin Houston. Dude just arrived one day and was solid every single day, then just left one day. No explanation. Nothing too exceptional. Just gave us what we needed.

  3. I’d like to give a shout-out to Rodney McLeod. Came in for a season, played solid as a starter, and left after that season.

    Another name popping up for me is Khari Willis. Solid draft pick but left football for religious reasons.

  4. Phillip Rivers, the one retirement home quarterback we had who actually played well in his final season and took us to the playoffs. Had he rode it out one more year who knows what would’ve happened.

  5. AUSTIN COLLIE

    Dude was a stud receiver, but Peyton got him almost killed a few times. He was ok as a rookie, came up to be a dependable target, then faded into concussion history

  6. He’s not done yet, but Mo Allie Cox’s career so far has basically been the definition of this one.

  7. Jack Doyle

    He played in the NFL for 9 years, all of which were with the colts. He played in pretty much every game every season, except for in 2018 when he missed 10 games.

    His career stats:
    * 295 receptions (averaged 2.25 rec/gm)
    * 2,729 receiving yards (20.8 yd/game), most in a season was 690 in 2017
    * 24 TDs

    His numbers year after year were very consistent in terms of offensive production, and he was also a solid blocker. He never really had a great season but didn’t have any down years either. He was a solid reliable player for Luck’s years and was able to determine when he’d retire, though he could have played more. Local guy, and fan-liked.
