Feel like he does this every season & trick the fan base & team into not moving him .. I’m all for this hot streak and even more for him keeping it up .. I just wanna see it a bit longer but one thing is clear .. the team is better when he’s out there & he’s having his best defensive season next to Dyson where he don’t have to be a POA guy anymore
Let him cook. Father Dre is different.
I don’t wanna fall for this Deandre trap I’ve seen it before. But having him come off the bench with a lighter load it just sooo much better for him.
He’s been hurt mostly, as usual. When he plays he contributes solidly.
He’s just never healthy.
He’s a good player, but the mini PG13/Kawhi comp holds up in the wrong way
I think he will perform better as he has a reduced and more defined role. He’s a good defender but not a great one and was miscast as our primary perimeter guy. Next to Dyson he will have less pressure to defend the other teams best player.
Offensively we have way more ball handlers now and an added emphasis to move the ball more and get shots of quickly. No more relying on him to hold the ball for 15 seconds to take a contested midrange. All he needs to do for the hawks now is play solid defense and make open shots, which are two things he can do. On a rare occasion he’ll get his chance to go to his iso scoring when games get tough, but it won’t be a core part of the offense. More of a break glass in case of emergency move.
I wonder what he worked on this offseason
The best ability is availability
He is definitely better playing off the bench. That’s why when healthy, our 2nd team is crazy good with Bogi, Hunter and OO.
Great when on floor…however best ability is availability which he only has like 25-60% of the time.
If he can stay on the court we will make the playoffs
