If I have to pretend I’m Jed hoyer this is what I got to tell you. Juan Soto was never realistic he would make me spend more than 200 million dollars I’m not comfortable with that. We pursued Roki Sasaki we offered him to pay for his travel here and give him a complimentary tour of the field to play for us for free and he declined I couldn’t believe it. We pursued getting Eric Gagne but he declined our call so we went and got Jesse Chavez again. Our team will have to outperform expectations to try and win. And we will pass the cost on to you the fans. We did our best as a front office to give you guys a winning team things just didn’t work out.

No, I really don’t want to pretend I’m Jed Hoyer because I know I’ll just end up being disappointed with the reality of what he will do.
Who would want to be Jed, I would rather be an above average President/GM. To answer the question, I would spend for a quality starter like Burnes and get a catcher and 3B who can hit.
