Keys to Josh Allen’s elite performance & plan to confuse Patrick Mahomes in Bills win over Chiefs

The Buffalo Bills have redefined their offensive strategy, utilizing motion to exploit the Kansas City Chiefs’ defensive weaknesses, particularly targeting cornerback Nazi Johnson. Josh Allen’s exceptional pocket movement and decision-making are pivotal in this transformation.

Ryan Van Demark’s debut at right tackle showcased his resilience against the formidable Chiefs’ front, while the Bills’ defense, with Terrell Bernard’s standout coverage, effectively limited Travis Kelce to just 8 yards. The Bills’ improved tackling, now ranking 4th in the league, and their strategic defensive game plan left Patrick Mahomes struggling with tight window throws.

Curious about how these strategies could shape the Bills’ season? Tune in for an in-depth analysis of their path to success.

  1. So with Ty Johnson on field most of any RB …and more pass plays than runs in the game ….that’s a tip off for opponent D … that it’s a pass …. And If cook is on Field is going to be run play …
Don’t believe u want to give a huge tip to give to opponent D…matter of time B4 D figures that

  2. Ty Johnson is the perfect RB3 for this team – he isn't needed much so he isn't taking the high mileage most RBs take, yet he still has great hands and I can't recall him dropping a single target, he's still got quickness and speed and is still quite capable as an RB so he's a great spell for RB1 or RB2. He's getting older but he can still succeed on this team in the future, at this rate

  3. Home field in the playoffs will be huge if we have to play the Chiefs again. You could tell that the crowd noise affected their protection calls. I don’t want see this team again

  4. Game begins. 40 seconds in, it’s 2nd &3 DaQuan Jones drags down Mahomes and manages to disrupt the throw that causes a pick by Taylor Rapp. This alone set us up for Coops one hand catch and Samuel catch which brings us into the red zone, brilliant plays and eventually a TD. Amazing start. If that wasn’t 92, someone let me know but as I see it DaQuan was definitely not sleeping on the job on KC first drive on this game. He punished them.

  5. Great win for Buffalo! My main concern for the inevitable rematch is getting more yards on 1st and 2nd down. Constantly having to make 3rd and longs could be our undoing the next time we face KC.

  6. There is still a long way to go and all kind of things can happen but i think its fair at this point to go back 12 weeks and evaluate where we're at and what expectations were. Many people considered this a rebuild year. We have rookie coordinators on offense and defensive. We lost our 1# and #2 receivers on offense. Beane due to cap issues and other reasons had to get rid of a lot of team captins, i believe last season we had 8 captins this year we have 2. I think most analysts across the country had it a coin flip between the bills an dolphins to win the east at about 10 wins. I could go on, but i think we can safely say the bills have answered many of the questions and out performed expectations. The bills have an excellent program that all our fan should be proud of.

  7. Von Miller looks lazy out there. Did you notice the same? One play he would have had an easy sack if he would have not quit after the initial rush. That laziness could hurt us later.

  8. Yo JOE! Love the standing Buffalo! Sometimes a game doesn’t need an all 22 breakdown, like the loss to Baltimore you know what I mean? It like punishing yourself for something you didn’t do… then there’s games like this one where you get to see almost every play is a treasure and even your mistakes weren’t totally exploited.

  9. 9:09 what’s funny is people are saying abandon the run. But the reality is that giving Cook and Davis the ball and running out to the wings stretched them. There were many times they were running 30 yards sideways so that the box gets stretched and Josh had room to take off. It really set the table for Josh’s biggest plays IMO.

  10. 16:06 isn’t it amazing how the best players in football have such an easier time when the overlooked or ‘mediocre’ players make a constant effort to improve their positions?
Love your analysis of the line play!

  11. On Friday or Saturday before the game you had said in one of your videos, the bills defense needs to cage, rush Mahomes. I explained that to my fiancé after they had either sacked him or pressured him to make an incompletion and on the TV Tony Romo draws two lines on the left and right of Mahomes while showing a shot of in the pocket and it was right after I explained it to my fiancé. She looked at me and I laughed because I know we have a very good football minded host in you Joe thank you for what you do. Go bills.

  12. There is still more video to come but I haven't heard anyone talk about the after play penalties. We had to show them we aren't scared and will not back down. I loved those show your toughness penalties.

  13. This was a Brandon Beane game…Ty Johnson our best pass blocker, Curtis Samuel a viable #3 option, Vandermark 😅, Amari Cooper. I can keep going but shout out to the Buffalo Bills Front Office

  14. The Bills in this game really felt like how the Chiefs have felt in the past. The Bills were able to keep the game in their control and stop KC from being able to build any momentum. In the words of turbo tool Colinsworth, that is a little Mahomey.

  15. We need to cut it out running the ball on first down every single time. Its too predictable and ruins drives. If you wanna run, fine, but run to the outside and not up the middle where you have a RB whos not a power back. Let Josh throw a short pass or just attempt a pass, then run. The run on 3rd down on the last drive if not for Josh the next play killed that drive.
