Dallas Stars’ Slow Start Leads to 4-2 Loss to Anaheim Ducks: Where has Jason Robertson Gone??

The Dallas Stars fell to the Anaheim Ducks 4-2, as a slow start ultimately proved costly. Despite a late push, the Stars were unable to overcome the early deficit. Anaheim’s strong first period put Dallas on its heels, and the Ducks held on for the win. Key players like Jason Robertson, Roope Hintz, and Wyatt Johnston struggled to generate enough offense. The trio’s lack of production is becoming a concern for the Stars. Dallas now faces mounting pressure to find more scoring depth. The loss highlights ongoing issues with consistency and finishing chances.

  1. If they won't tell us that he's hurt, then Jason Robertson should spend a week or two in the cozy confines of Cedar Park. This kid is not serious about scoring or even passing anymore. He is the invisible man, and if he keeps it up he's going to blow all the way through his contract year in '25-'26 and the big money will disappear just like he has. Not only that… this team cannot make the playoffs if he doesn't wake up and learn how to lead.

  2. Just curious as to what Robos stats where last year at the same time? Maybe he doesn't have the full legs like normal due to being out because of the surgery.

  3. The Jets are legit. The AVS are finding themselves. The Wild are doing better than expected and they are still ahead of the Stars. Dallas doesn't have the luxury of dropping games like this. They need to get their crap together.

  4. I mean it's wild that we are ignoring that Robo didn't get to train most of the summer. Hasn't had consistent linemates. Doesn't get minutes. What do you want from the guy? Put wyatt up there for 3 games and see what happens. Those guys need to figure it out and juggling their lines and minutes ain't helping shit

  5. It looks to me like Robo didn’t do any offseason training. Did the cyst prohibit his summer progress? He just looks slow and flat. Maybe it’s a personal thing, sometimes it looks like he doesn’t care. I’m venting, he looks like he doesn’t give a sh$t and it ticks me off as a season ticket holder.

  6. my unsolicited 2¢: rethink the top line and put him in a position away from the main focus of the opposing team.

    benn – hintz – stankoven
    marchment – duchene – seguin
    robertson – johnston – dadonov
    steel – bourque – back/blackwell

you could even switch up bourque with dadonov but i figure a veteran presence may be helpful and dadonov puts in the work EVERY shift. same with johnston unluckiness/nerves aside

  7. also couldn’t agree with you more joey about the stars needing to put their best foot forward. that game felt like the coaching staff took the ducks lightly and paid for it (maybe same with some of the players early on in the game)

  8. Physicality, Robo, Hinz and many other players, play better when they are throwing their bodies around. If not the why not bench them or take them off the Power play. Harley can be put in that conversation. General Hitchcock would scratch players no matter what their salaries were.

  9. Out hustled, out played, out worked. Every game deserves 100%. Some games we care, some games we don’t. Not sure why that is? Feel like we are good, but we haven’t found our game yet. We’re up and down. A lot of bad passing too.
We can turn it around though. We have the talent, and the time. But don’t be patient, or complacent. Pedal down. In my opinion. Every game matters. Every point matters. Go Stars!

  10. There is a serious leadership problem on this team and has been since before 2020. I am tired of seeing a lack of effort and interest. This happens each season and in multiple games every season. Slow starts, losing game 1 of playoff series etc…The postgame interviews, the players say the same "we have to play better" but it just continues to happen. No way any team does the same thing over and over and over again season after season. The lack of leadership is glaring.

  11. I agree with you on Lunds. I think Dumba is going to play himself outta the lineup mainly because his skills seem to be deteriorating. It happens. The question is will PDB give Lunds the position for awhile until Bichsel is ready? I think he should. I also think making Lunds the guy would give him a boost in confidence.

  12. Let’s be real. 4 games(Florida twice, Winnipeg, Minnesota) we played against teams at the top we got beat handily. We did beat Edmonton early but they were not playing well early on. It’s still early in the season, but we are not playing well enough yet to be in the upper echelon of the western conference . Going to the game tomorrow, hoping we have a good start !
