He is having a decreased role with decreased minutes this year because of how deep we are. You can’t expect him to make a leap when this is his scenario. He’s an all around solid player. People who watch him on the court know his value.

relax bro hes a 3m player, what more u want
podz consistently snags rebounds from dudes 6 inches taller than him so yeah I’m down
I think podz can still be productive but the eye test shows he doesn’t seem confident in his shot or scoring so far this season. He’s constantly been giving up open shots to drive in and kick out to a lower quality shot than what he had originally.
The floor would open up if he took those open shots since the defense would respect his from there.
He has lost confidence in his shot this season and is non factor when it comes to scoring
I like him, he is our “josh hart” type player. but our front office sees him more than that lol. I never see him as scorer from the start of his rookie season. he is our hustle guy
Dang.. ya’ll turn so fast around here. Two weeks ago it was ride and die.. a couple of year two bad games and ya’ll ready to blow it up.
Guarantee you he is at his ceiling as a player.
He is a good, winning player. Just not an all star, and I don’t see all star type potential in him. I see his ceiling as a tyus jones, Fred VanVleet type of player. Like a 4th or 5th starter on a championship level team, but not a star. Those types of players are valuable, but not so valuable as to not try to get a star for him
Overvaluing Podz is going to prove to be a mistake by the Dubs. Not saying he won’t have a nice career. But Lacob declaring him an all star and seemingly refusing to put him in trade talks is wild. There’s not a thing that Podz does that can’t be found in an MLE guy.
But he’s legit afraid to be an offensive threat, he’s a good player, knows where to be, good defender, we know he’s generally a good shooter, good ball handler, and passer but why does it matter if he’s not liable to be a consistent offensive threat to score. I don’t know if anyone’s noticed but his pnr’s create almost no advantage or scoring opportunities despite his iq and passing, he constantly passes up shots if someone closes out and only takes the but naked ones and it hurts this team ngl
He said he’ll shoot more threes this season. Hasn’t happened yet. Seems this dude is all talk so far.
Podz talked about the coaches working his floater out of his game in the off season, but it was an essential part of his inside game as an undersized guard. You can see him freezing up when it opens up for him
I wish GP2 would get his 3 point % up significantly.
Good to know
His value is a bag of chips. Like who do you guys think podz is???
Podz lost minutes because he didn’t play well. His lack of minutes are not contributing to him playing worse.
He played 30 mpg the first 6 games and just didn’t have it so once Curry came back they reduced his role.
He just really needs to score more. Every other part of his game is above average.
Yeah, he’s actually good.
I expect him to attack the rim when he has the opportunity or take a shot when he’s wide open, not 5 PPG when we could have had Lauri over him

He’s averaging 2 minutes less be fr man… and he’s crazy inefficient this year from 3 but very efficient at 2 (but he barely shoots them anyway)
I got downvoted for saying this but a large part of podz’ role is that he is good at playing team politics. basically every reporter was saying this last season, he ingratiates himself to the right people
at least he stopped doing that hook shot that I’ve noticed
I will never agree with Kerr in taking the two breakout young players on the team from last season—JK and Podz—and throttling down their role. It’s lunacy to me.
Couldn’t agree more, OP. Podz needs more minutes if he’s going to improve. I think he can grow into a starter for this team, he just needs more experience.
He had one point last night. One. You know how difficult it is to score one point in an NBA game?
He’s been stinking it up.
He started the season looking good despite the poor shooting. He was contributing in other ways and leading the team in +-
For whatever reason, he looks unsure and not confident for the past 5 games or so, and he’s probably had the worst team +/- during that stretch.
When we hear reports like he is untouchable. I don’t believe thats anything but a negotiating tactics lol
I still can believe the defending Champs decided to floor lamb for 20+ minutes a game and thought that shit would fucking work. Especially when it didn’t and they kept with it.
