This is absolutely terrible

We need to talk about the injury to Alexander Ovechkin which has seemingly sidelined his amazing start to the NHL year… we’ll look at Ovi’s chase for Gretzky, his injury, and recap the Washington Capitals vs Utah.

  1. How fast elite athletes can recover from stuff is honestly crazy. I had a grade 2 MCL sprain younger than Ovie, and that was a matter of a couple months to get back to recreational sports.

  2. What kind of doctor that is with the post? In this age knee injury may as well end his career because as it may start popping out frequently. I have the same issue with my knee. I hope it's not that bad for Ovi but how can a doctor even try to predict something like that only based on the video footage.

  3. This is an interesting situation where the ability of Ovechkin to break Gretzky's record and the goal of the Washington Capitals to win the Cup are somewhat at odds. Ovechkin is old. The Capitals need him to be in top form to be a Cup contender. This would indicate they should manage his playing time carefully, give him regular breaks and one they lock in a playoff spot give him the rest of the days off.
Toronto let Matthews play meaningless games so he could score 70 goals. Would resting Matthews for several games mean he was able to play all the playoff games? We can't know for sure but playing those games that had or bearing in the playoff rankings sure didn't help the Leafs as a team.

  4. Shooting percentage off the charts? come on now you do realize he took 14 shots one game.?? I mean no disrespect to him because he’s phenomenal

  5. His knee went a little inward with the impact, MCL is my bet. With luck it’s just a sprain. Can’t really see ACL with that collision, but the MRI will tell the tale.
