The Packers 3 biggest free agent signings in 2024 were Xavier McKinney, Josh Jacobs, and Keisean Nixon. They combine for $17.1M cap on $48.2M cash. They can sign the same deals in 2025 with ease. Hell, they could add another McKinney deal without needing veteran restructures.

  1. Next years cb and lb free agent classes are pretty decent. Edge seems like the clear 1st round pick next year.

  2. Well we need a top corner to replace the perpetually injured Jaire, a pass rusher who can actually rush, and a mic linebacker who understands gaps. So ya, we need another 3 big signings. lol.

  3. Nixon should not even be considered, he’s a complete liability. Gotta find someone better than him..

  4. I expect the Packers to be bigger spenders in 2025 free agency than they were this offseason. Spotrac has us at $65M in cap space, with really no free agents that *need* to be resigned. A couple million will go to our ERFAs and some fringe roster guys like Eric Wilson, but most of that money can be used for signings and rookies.

We do have a lot of important 2026 free agents, so some money will be saved for extensions. But a post-June 1 cut of Jaire would free up more than $16M on the 2025 cap that could be used for those extensions.

I’m sure that we won’t be as aggressive as some (myself included) would like, but there’s a real opportunity to add major talent this offseason. We could easily afford a plus player at CB, LB, and on the defensive line. Given our lack of success drafting defensive talent, I’d love to see a heavy emphasis on defense in free agency and then a draft that stocks the offensive cupboard for when we have to let some of our guys walk.

  5. We need to get another corner either through the draft or through FA. Jaire has really shown his age this year and the production really drops off when he’s out. I really wish we could have ended up with at least one of the top corners in the 24 draft, but it is what it is.

Saying that, We’re only 1 solid D lineman away from having a solid (maybe better) DLine, and honestly it could be a DE or DT. We need someone that is good enough to require a double or at least extra attention, and give the other guys 1v1’s across the board. Plus, another year in the system will help guys that were looking like they were going to pop off last year (i.e Gary and Wyatt).

  6. I feel like a lot of the Nixon value was with his return ability. The new kickoff rules hurt his upside terribly. Guy is an absolute weapon when he gets the chance to take it out of the end zone but he hasn’t gotten the chance this year. Hoping they make it more returner friendly in the future. He’s only been able to bring it out 9 times this year. As a CB tho absolute liability, like Gosling in RtT

  7. who’s the biggest stud DL or 4-3 DE hitting the market this offseason? sign whoever it is and take a page out of the Lions book and double dip at CB

  8. For where it looks we end up in the draft as of right now I don’t see anyone that’s a can’t miss edge rusher.

We should go corner first and either sign chase young/fowler or trade for a more up and coming pass rusher.  A guy I really like is Greg Rousseau on the Bills,  but I doubt he’d be cheap

  9. The saftey room redo was this year

Next year it’s going to be the CB room. Mark my words

  10. One of those signings is not like the others. Jacobs and McKinney look like absolute home runs though

  11. I hope we sign a DT more than an edge rusher. I know edge seems like the clear need but the interior determines how much attention the edges get. Two guys on Clark and he goes quiet, Wyatt/Brooks/Slaton only require one OL to block and no imagination (say pulling a guard). If that changes Gary will start producing which in turn will help LVN or Enagbare. I also think Cox has earned his shot and we saw a flash here or there against CHI.

A lot more holes in the front seven than I originally anticipated. At least the Safety room is a strength.

  12. Nixon is the only one I could live without. New kickoff rules kinda nerf him so he’s surviving solely on his coverage skills, which… aren’t all that amazing
