Saw this article and imo it isn't a terrible deal.
Basically trade our normally starting center for a 24yo bench guard who can hit some threes. But it swaps one big contract for multiple smaller ones that are easier to move. And tbh I just don't think he's worth a lot more than that.

If we did go this route we go from great center depth to actually kind of thin, given Timelord's injury history and Clingan being somewhat limited to 25mpg. But I think Deni can play some small ball 5, and if we can get a similar kind of deal for Simons we'd have enough plus defenders we could probably make do.

In an epic new trade proposal piece, Greg Swartz of Bleacher Report pitches a deal that would see Ayton landing in Charlotte, where he'd instantly start ahead of third-string 39-year-old center Taj Gibson. Starter Mark Williams and his backup Nick Richards remain on the shelf with long-term injuries. Richards would be shipped off in the deal, along with bench swingman Josh Green, backup power forward Grant Williams, and the Philadelphia 76ers' 2025 second rounder. Given that the 76ers are 2-11 and looking awful, that second rounder could be a surprisingly high pick.

  1. Dont pay attention to anything from SI.com. it’s all click bait, and dumb trades with no logic.

  2. Every time there’s a trade proposal / machine thread, I get sadder on my inside parts 😞

  3. Ayton for Myles Turner and Jarace Walker would be insane and the Pacers were dumb enough to do the state of Indiana should boycott the team for at least 5 years.

with Jordan gone from the Hornets, who knows if they’re still down for dumb trades, but the Blazers should jump on that in a heart beat if it was available.

  4. No one is giving up anything for Ayton, he’s not very good and his contract is awful. We’re stuck with him til the summer when he’s expiring the year after.

  5. The pacers are a no lol. The hornets are intriguing but I’m waiting to see how mark williams looks when he’s back.

  6. Careful with those 3 for 1 trades, that means it also costs a couple bench players that would have to be waived.

  7. Josh green and Grant Williams for Ayton deal! Toumani and Banton would have some back up when we get into fights lol

  8. I honestly think the trade becomes more fair if the second round pick isn’t included. If we did this, we should try to send Nick Richards to a contender for another asset too.

  9. The Hornets actually seem like a good destination for Ayton. I imagine that it would have to expand to a three team trade, and since we’d be taking on multiple contracts to match salary, some low salary guys would have to go out too like Reath and/or Jabari, and that would hurt, but could still be worth it. I would love to get Richards or Taj back.
