A secret Raiders OC candidate has emerged for next season and according to a source close to Mitchell, it could be Colorado’s OC Pat Shurmur. Deion Sanders wants Shedeur Sanders to succeed in the NFL and Shurmur has shown he can groom a rookie QB. The real question will be if Tom Brady wants Shurmur and if Shurmur wants to be paired with Anotnio Pierce or Mike Vrabel.

  5. Important note: IF Shurmur were to leave Colorado to go with S.Sanders, then it's smart to believe Deion will not be HC of Colorado next year. Possibly he goes to Florida State as HC. Why would he send his OC to the NFL if he wanted to win at Colorado?

  8. Wes Welker. He should be able to give us 2-3 years of good coordinating before he gets attention as a HC candidate. Maybe he never gets the consideration and he can remain as the OC for 4-5 years. There's the obvious connection with Brady and Welker doesn't call plays right now in Miami but he's been on Shanahan and McDaniel staffs for the last 4 seasons. He's a high "BOOM" candidate but not as "BUST" worthy as Getsy or JMD. Side note: Vrabel currently serves as a coaching consultant in Cleveland, with the Brady and Welker connections perhaps he gets convinced to come on board to be AP's consultant and possibly waits in the wings in the even AP crashes in year 2. Just a thought!
