Rob must know something we don’t because from everything that’s been said it sounded like baseball was dead in Tampa Bay.
I’ve seen some A’s fans on X say this was exactly what Manfred said about the A’s franchise before they moved out. I don’t want to take his word for it unless he helps partially pay for the stadium, or helps us get a new deal in Tampa
“We are committed to making sure that every baseball fan in the Tampa Bat area is able to spend an afternoon enjoying the sport they love on MLB.tv.”
I don’t believe that it’s worth the trouble to find a new location for baseball outside TB. Everything that’s going on is political bluster.
This is like getting a vote of confidence when you know you’re getting fired
This is the equivalent of “thoughts and prayers”. Until shovels are in dirt, fuck you manfred. You’re a shitty commissioner to have allowed this to happen
The fuck does he know? If he isnt committing MLB funds he has literally no input.
I really want to know which direction most of you guys will go in terms of MLB fandom (if any) if we do ultimately end up losing the team to a different city/state.
Personally, I’m torn. I’m a Tampa native through and through. Never lived anywhere else. I’m also just a huge sports fan in general. Because of that, I’ve always been a big supporter of the Rays, Bucs, and Lightning, and I’ve even been getting into the Magic a little bit more recently.
Having said that, baseball has always been my #1 sport. So, if I were forced to pick a favorite sports team of all time, I would probably go with the Rays despite my strong love for the other local pro sports teams simply because of how much I love baseball. I just can’t see myself disowning the sport of baseball forever. However, I feel like it would be difficult to continue supporting this franchise if we lost them to a different market (Orlando would be my only exception, which is probably unlikely anyway), so I’m not really sure what I’d do.
Just thought it would be interesting to see some other viewpoints on this lol.

[Here’s](https://www.mlb.com/news/commissioner-rob-manfred-on-rays-2025-ballpark-expansion-timeline) a non-paywalled link to MLB’s website that basically says the same stuff.

Just saying.
Serious question;
