1. Ahh glad the winning streak is over. I missed how reactionary this place gets during losses. So much more entertaining.

9. Tough game. Blame it on the broadcast going out in the 3rd quarter and the audio being fucked up.

   On the real, clippers had a good game plan. Crowd the paint and make us shoot. Really need the likes of Gary, Jalen, or Jett to get going in a game like this… or when’s he’s back, someone like Paolo who can get a bucket when the offense gets sticky. These 2 back2back games were always gonna be tough. Need a boogie night out if franz tomorrow.

10. The refs were ass tonight, but ultimately this loss still falls in the guys. Gotta hit wide open shots. The Clippers gave our guys a taste of their own medicine with physical defense, and nobody could step up and make them pay.

    Also, Mose got out coached tonight. The Clippers were throwing a double on Franz every time and sending extra help, and not a single play was drawn up to exploit that. I know Franz didn’t score a lot, but I don’t think he played that poorly. Nobody else took advantage of the attention he was drawing. That’s a systemic failure.

He’s a plug-and-play guy for contenders—not a building block for a franchise on the rise.

    Why waste minutes and opportunities on a player who’s unlikely to be part of the team’s long-term future? Those minutes could go to Anthony Black. Signing Caldwell-Pope signals that the front office either doesn’t trust its young core or doesn’t know how to prioritize their development.

    2. Overpaying for Mediocrity

    You’d think after years of rebuilding, the Magic would know better than to throw good money at mediocre players, but here we are. Caldwell-Pope is fine, but he’s not worth whatever they’re paying him—not for this roster, not for this situation. You don’t overpay for a role player when your team is years away from true contention. This is like buying premium rims for a car that still doesn’t have an engine. 17. We’ve won games with bad shooting before. Our bigs got punked on rebounding tonight. We were tops in the league in allowing second chance points and defensive rebounding percentages. May or may not be anymore.

18. The FO might have to pull the plug on the KCP signing and find a way to get rid of him by the deadline. I just don’t see how he can possibly stay here when we are once again the worst 3 point shooting team in the league. Just in a really terrible position due to how washed he looks.

23. Tough loss, but good fight. This Paolo-less team came in as underdogs. We didn’t expect them to win a lot, but they gave us a streak with some records and a nice standing. Franz showed us again he’s a real deal. Goga was allowed to play, revealing opportunities we might be missing. We saw some growth with our freshmen. AB seems to be getting more comfortable getting in charge and owning his game. TDS getting playtime and revealing great potential. Howard showing his quick release showing potential as well. As I cornily quote papa johns, better ingredients, better pizza.

    Now I’m just hoping they don’t end up going on a losing streak and just keep getting better. Then Paolo’s comeback will be the icing.

24. Defense played well enough to win. But the rebounding and offense was obviously terrible. We just got out dawged tonight.

25. There was no point in this game where it ever felt like we got going. They clamped Franz very well, seemed to hit every three they shot and probably should have blown us out. The fact they didn’t shows how good our defense is. No team wins them all and we definitely can’t win them all without Paolo.

    He is the only player who has shown to be able to exploit the spaces that the opposing attention on Franz create.

    Franz was in constant double coverage the moment he stepped over the half line with one directly on him and one behind the play. He tried to cut past twice early in these situations, had to pivot hard on the second defender and lost the handle in the process. He had like maybe 5 situations with some breathing room, turned these in two successful drives and the miss on his sole open three. Everything else was contested and the Clips got away with that approach, limiting him to only 10 proper shots.

    His other numbers were good, six dimes, four (!) steals and six boards.

    Speaking of boards: How the fuck was the player that should usually be the first one running on the fast break the only guy with a respectable amount of rebounds? Part of it was Zubac just playing well, but a lot of it also was just lack of effort and boxing out.

    They need to put more work in here, otherwise the Clips just handed the league a blue print to neuter us: put two bodies on Franz at all times and crash the boards hard to cruise to comfortable wins.

    Tough road game, good gameplan by the clippers, solid defence by the magic to hang in there, 3point shot did not fall, not surprising, it happens move on. … those rebound problems though … inexcusable.

    on the bright side … to “Only” lose by 11 while the other team litterally has more then DOUBLE the rebounds and DOUBLE 3 point efficiency … absolutly wild.
