What the media narrative absolving Joe Douglas of blame gets wrong

meanwhile i’m just sitting here like “Woody is a shit owner AND JD was a shit gm AND saleh was a shit coach”
its not like these things are mutually exclusive
The article notes it and I’ve said it on this sub but JD made 3 critical errors:
1) Becton over Wirfs
2) Wilson over Darnold
3) Saleh over the field
Had he gotten even one of those right, he might still be here. 2/3 and he’s got an extension. NFL GMs don’t get to fail on those things and keep their jobs.
Woody sucks but Douglas dug his own grave.
I’m so glad JD is gone.. at least Saleh left with his head high, no leaks or bullshit stories from his camp.. JD is a slimy weasel trying to deflect his terrible stint while with the Jets.. just goes to show you what type of a person he is to leak all this bullshit.. dude was never a true Jet.. any man with half an ounce of dignity would have just walked away and taken the next role.. Woody wanted to bench Rodgers yet Woody trades for his best friend? That story doesn’t make any sense.. JD trying to put a wedge between Rodgers and Woody.. JD and his little dick energy is just pissed that Woody speaks to Rodgers more than he did JD..
No GM could survive missing on the Becton pick and then Zach. And in his defense, everybody was hoping for 3/4+ of Rodgers in Green Bay 2022.
He’s less than half of that and appears to be lost, if disengaged. To clean up the AR mess a complete housekeeping is in order.
Not sure who’s going to be anxious to come here when we have to rebuild the quarterback situation and it turns out that Woody thinks he’s Jerry Jones
You are what your record says you are.
Failure to stand up to your boss is also a failure
“For a general manager to draft that many high impactful players that are young, and to get fired, speaks to there’s a lot more going on.”
Yeah Orlovsky almost like there is more to being a GM than drafting well in the first 3 Rounds in one draft.
But good article and I think Connor Rogers Tweet pretty much nails it.
